1.A manger faces a problem of increasing cost in his company. This problem is specific to him. It
might so happen that similar problems are faced by others in the industry. He tries to find the
reasons(s) for rising cost and falling profit that might involve different areas of research.
Which
type(s) of research or mode will be necessary to solve the problem?

2.As the business grows in terms of size and revenue, they face the inevitable challenge of managing
their human resources. In order to execute well-informed business decisions, managers need to
understand the work being done on the front line of the business with a special reference to the
employees satisfaction, which is essential to the success of any business. Therefore, keeping
employees satisfied with their careers should be the major priority for every employer. There are
numerous reasons for employees to be discouraged with their jobs and for them to resign; the reasons
include high stress, lack of communication within the company, lack of recognition or limited
opportunity for growth.

Management should actively seek to improve these factors if they hope to lower their turnover rate.
Research studies have shown that the motivated and satisfied employees tend to contribute more in
terms of organizational productivity and maintaining a commitment to customer satisfaction. An
empirical study has been conducted with a sample of employees of an organization to examine the
relationship between the antecedent factors in the workplace and the organization policies with
reference to the employees satisfaction

The findings of the study indicate that there is significant positive relationship between overall job
satisfaction and the various parameters, namely policies and procedures of the company, training and
development programs conducted to upgrade the skills of the employees, the work place culture,
promotion opportunities and the competency of the respective supervisors.
