Dear Albany High School Community,

Late last night, AHS administration was made aware of an instagram account that contains
pictures of several of our students, some of which were sexually explicit. We immediately
began an investigation and have been meeting with students throughout the day. The
Albany Police Department was also notified, and we met with a detective this morning. We
will be continuing our investigation in the coming days.

Our counseling department and our mental health team have also been meeting with and
providing support to the students who were impacted by this account. We are encouraging
students who may have more information to immediately contact me or one of our assistant
principals.

I personally appreciate the support I have received from our community, and I strongly
encourage our families to take some time to have conversations with your children about the
safe use of social media.
