Lesson Content Description:
Students will practice making a graph and using the graph to
answer questions about most and least.

Instructional Strategies/Method of Delivery:


Students will be given direct instruction and practice. Students will then do independent
practice.
Common Core Standard:
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.MD.C.4
Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions
about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less
are in one category than in another.
ELD Standard:
1. Exchanging information and ideas
Contribute to class, group, and partner discussions by listening attentively, following turn-
taking rules, and asking and answering questions.
Common Core Lesson Objective:
Students will be able to organize and interpret data using graphs and by answering questions.
Assessment:
Formative: T. will ask students for thumbs up or down.
Summative: T. can review students independent practice. Also, students will be taking a
summative assessment the following school day.
Lesson/Assessment Modifications: ELL: Special Needs
Behavior- Student will be monitored to ensure he is on task and behaving.
EL-Student will be given teacher assistance if needed.
Technology: Describe the types of technology you will be utilizing in your lesson to create
and enhance instruction

T. will explain that students will be reading a tally chart and graphing the responses.

T. will model how to complete the graph on the inside, T. will then go over the questions and
have students discuss with their table groups.
T. will review their responses.
T. will complete the back page with students.

Students will complete the independent practice page and T. will go over and explain the
answers.
