shortly after that, the state Government decided to modify the fonts, to
make it easy on the typewriter. As the time went by the Government
switched back to old alphabets and was put in to use once again.
The children studying in schools had to learn old Malayalam alphabets
first, then the new alphabets and vice versa, during the transition period
of switching alphabets with old and new. In the history of mankind there
was only one man (a king) who shifted his capital back and forth, called
Mohamed Bin Tugluk.
Politicians are all like that Mohammad Bin Tugluk that is why they often
change their political party. Politicians are the greatest financial and
power opportunists and self-seekers, so they can be like that only.
By the time Computer brain-box has come. Using the English Keyboard
of computers, they created a system; and computer began to spit out
Malayalam. At this time copyright-plague crept in. Thereby one could not
use the keyboard system another one has developed.
There after every Dick and Harry began to create their own keyboard
system and alphabets. Only heaven knows how many Malayalam
keyboard systems are in use now.
Finally some computer wise guys found MANGLISH system. You type in
English Language the computer will vomit Malayalam Language. It is a
tough business, because Malayalam Language is so intricate, the
computer-programmers could not conquer transposing precisely. Only an
expert could generate Malayalam typing through Manglish. If it is English
at least you can look at the Keyboard and keep picking each alphabet and
get your work done. For a fifty-one-alphabet system even if you use the
normal keys and shift keys, it is not enough to type the Malayalam
Language because you may have to use two or three keys at the same
time to crate some of the alphabets.
Another setback the computer typists have created is, combining of too
many small words and making it too long and making it difficult to Justify
the typed material properly. You may see many documents with align left.
These people, creating too much spelling mistakes and improper usages,
hopelessly ruin the very language itself.
This type of improper use of language can be seen in Property Document
(Deed) writings. The document writers will write one page, in one
sentence. This is just to avoid some spacing used in typing system. As a
result the language is virtually murdered.
Speaking and writing good Malayalam language is a very intricate
lacework. Those who are learning Malayalam Language from childhood will

survive better and the foreigners learning late will end up in breathing
problems before they could be fluent in the language.
I think English language and any other European language have only one
keyboard system. What a crazy blessing Malayalam language has, a
million key board system and all the roads leads to Rome, even then
Pure Malayalam literature remains where it started.
If you start from the North end of Kerala to South end, you can see
Malayalam usage is varying. Some words have opposite meaning like
some of the English words.
Example:-Sanction = 1) Give permission 2) Imposing barrier
You have to choose the right meaning depending on the situation.
The central parts of Kerala State use the perfect Language. As a whole
the spoken language has degenerated. If you speak clearly and legibly,
they will call it dramatic-language. To make it sound more natural, movies
have a language spoken in high speed and more colloquially. Maximum
you can understand is about fifty percent even for Malayalam speaking
people. As a result each one speaks in his own style, resulting no
uniformity in written and spoken language. They dont even have a hand
writing
formation.
The
worst
handwriting I have seen is in the
medical field where doctors give
prescriptions. Most of them write
illegibly because their handwriting is
simply hopeless and without any
formation besides the lack of
spelling knowledge. There are some
expert pharmacists who are good in
analytical process and interpreting
them. Some of the doctors and high
officials feel proud of their ratty
handwriting, which is part of their
status
On the left is the fifty-one
Malayalam font system. As you can
see the letters go round and round,
like barbed wire ringlets on the
borders and the disputed territories.
Each language has its own peculiarities, merits and demerits, but none is
better and worse than the other.

I often tried to learn and write some other languages but it was an utter
failure. May be I did not have enough patience and knew no technique to
master it.
Just below is the variation of one alphabet Ka; such variations are
applicable to all letters.
There are many immensely rich individuals,
organizations Industrialists and religious
groups in Kerala; they all have created their
own keyboard systems.
There is not even one soul (Except the
Varamozhi transilitarian) who has created a
free keyboard system for Malayalam Language for others use, not even
the Sate Government. Each Malayalam News Paper has their own
keyboard system.
Now Kerala State has Malayalam as official language. What a mess they
have made. They are making all documents in Malayalam Language. The
official papers that are to be taken out of the Sate have to be translated
and to be certified by authorized officials costing the exchequer several
hundreds of bucks.
The Sate Government has switched back the names of many places,
which used to be British cut pieces. Does this help to improve the
language?
I tried a lot to use Manglish but I could not handle it easily, even then it
helps as oxygen supply to the dying.
One of the toughest obstacles I have encountered is the true translation
of English to Malayalam and vice versa.
The very purpose of this article is to draw the attention of Time servers
and super heroes of the Malayalam users to come out of their hypocrisy
and do something prospective for the sake of Malayalam Language.
Will there be anyone to uplift this dying language, only heaven knows.
