Medium: Wool roving

A. Description:
- During this lesson we will be exploring new materials such as wool

and discuss the history of it. Next the students will make their piece of

will be able to make their own design using the colors given. By using
new materials, students will learn yet another way of experimenting
with new materials given.

3. Students will work independently coming up with a design.
4. Then they will put the wool into the zip-lock bag with some soapy
water and let it dry
5. As we are waiting we will discuss the different techniques that each
person used
6. Everyone will take their artwork out of the bag and dab it with a paper
towel to get any excess water out.
7. Each of us will present our artwork to one another
I. Accommodations:
- Students will be able to make their own design
- This project can also be split within two days since it does need time to
dry
J. Enrichment activities:
- Students will be exploring a new set of materials and learning a recipe
on how to make felt. This will allow students to learn different
techniques to see what works and what doesnt while exploring new
materials.
K. Closure:
- To finish up the lesson, I will have a group discussion to discuss any
techniques that each student used. The next part of the discussion will
be the students presenting their artwork to the group and describing
