Viacom-YouTube Dispute. Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice, vol. 3, no.

This article discusses a lawsuit by Viacom to YouTube concerning a boundary between fair use

and copyright infringement. The case has not yet been judged but the article goes into detail

about the possibility of something occurring concerning fair use. This article is broken down into

parts of the four ingredients of fair use defense. These parts are the purpose and character of use,

the nature of the copyrighted work, the amount and substantiality of infringing content, and the

impact of the copyrighted work on the market. Knowing about a boundary of fair use and

copyright infringement will help me provide support to an argument concerning the legality of a

video on YouTube.

TubeFilters article on the YouTube algorithm has a main purpose of breaking it down for

understanding. There are a lot of people that dont know how the algorithm is engineered and

this article will help explain it to those people. Both authors of this article have worked with

Frederator Studios, an animation studio that also uploads content to YouTube, so they have much

knowledge of this topic. The article is broken down into parts that explain Watch Time which

is an important factor in the algorithm and in this article. I will be able to use this article to study

how the algorithm works in detail since it is mainly what I am writing about.
