Score: Comments: You responded to student questions and had them participate in the learning through questioning and
4 review. This content was a review of previous learning and was perhaps differentiated by being something the whole
class needed.

Score: Comments: You used a variety of resources to meet the needs of you students. You made good connections to
4 previous learning and used relevant examples.

Instruction

Score: Comments: You modeled and then asked students to explain their process for solving a similar problem. You asked
5 questions that were a mix of high and low level thinking. Good job with sticking with a student to allow them to
explore the mistake in their thinking. You used a personal anecdote to reinforce vocabulary. Good use of wait time.

Score: Comments: You reviewed vocabulary of sides, angles, and triangles having students describe them as you drew them
4 on the board. You reviewed previous concepts as to help establish background knowledge before introducing new
terms. You praised students for applying the vocabulary in their discussion.

Score: Comments: Today's lesson was a review for upcoming testing. You used formative assessment (morning work) to help
3 guide student understanding. Established procedures helped students understand criteria for the expectations of this
assessment. Assessment was aligned with standards.

Score: Comments: You were acutely aware of student engagement during the lesson and gave multiple cues of
4 encouragement. You shared thoughts with me about the level of engagement and why you thought the lesson was or
was not effective. Good reflective strategies and student monitoring!

Classroom Environment/ Management

5 positive manner with praise and positive redirections for off task behavior. You have worked very well with your host
teacher to maintain her discipline plan and classroom procedures. It is obvious that you maintain an environment
focused on effective teaching and learning.
