About Cleveland Codes:

Cleveland Codes: Tri-Cs Software Developers Academy, is the first not-for-profit coding bootcamp in
Northeast Ohio. Cleveland Codes is committed to a spirit of inclusive excellence by providing high-quality
training to Northeast Ohio residents. Students meet Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for 16 weeks.
Once students successfully complete in-class requirements, Tri-C works with area organizations to connect
them with software development internships or full time employment opportunities.

What Students Learn:

Over the 16 weeks in class, students learn to write computer code in the C# language within the .NET
Microsoft framework. Students are exposed to software development fundamentals, which include core
programming tenants (OOP), ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Database Fundamentals
(SQL server).

Weve found that in todays dynamic business environments, it is critical that developers possess more of the
skills traditionally associated with other business functions skills like strategic thinking, interpersonal
communication, project management and basic business analysis. For this reason, Cleveland Codes students
receive 40 hours of career development training to build and refine valuable business readiness skills. This
ensures that they are equipped to present themselves in a professional manner and understand how to
communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.

Program Features & Benefits:

Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) is the oldest and largest community college in Ohio and Tri-Cs IT
Center of Excellence will serve as the foundation for helping to produce and sustain the local talent needed to
support the continued sustainability and rapid technical innovation happening in Northeast Ohio.

Students take the Microsoft Software Development Fundamentals Exam 98-361, which tests students
understanding of core programming tenants, object-oriented programming, general software development, web
applications, desktop application and databases. In passing their Microsoft exam students earn a certification
as a Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA). Cleveland Codes provides a thoroughly vetted pool of local
technical talent who have demonstrated the aptitude and fortitude to learn computer programming and are
ready for meaningful internships. The recruitment and selection process is thoughtful and intentional to include
outreach to women, people of color, LGBTQ people, low-income people, veterans and other populations
traditionally underrepresented in technical roles. The majority of these students have a proven work ethic and
are hungry for a challenging career transition.
