learning experience. This Previously, I had done an activity with a colour sorting could be in response to an observation, discussion caterpillar. My supervisor noticed the children were with the site supervisor, very interested in the bright colours as well as the Ontario Curriculum aspect of sorting. They all cooperated and were Objective, etc. engaged in sorting the shapes and colours onto the Observation caterpillar. Due to this, my supervisor and I talked about sorting activities. - Document what you saw and heard Not all the toddlers are accustomed to numbers as - Document non-verbal much as they are with patterns. Therefore, I added communication (i.e., body language, facial both numbers and patterns onto the Easter eggs. In expressions and voice addition to that, the toddlers usually only recite the tone) - Document in detail: who, alphabet rather than writing it. Due to this, I added what, where, and when two Easter eggs with letters to observe if they could - Documentation should identify them as well. be written in past tense, objective, and in My supervisor mentioned that she also liked all the anecdotal format OR colours so I decided to make it as eye catching as I could. I used bright markers and construction paper Discussion to do this. Document the discussion between you and your site supervisor that led to the planning Learning Experience

Also, they can opportunities for growth use their sensory exploration to identify different (e.g. ELECT, How Does properties and colours on the Easter eggs. Learning Happen, Ontario FDK Curriculum, etc). 3. The last objective was to develop their self- regulation skills. In the ELECT, attention regulation (2.2) is achieved by focusing their attention and avoiding distractions. By placing other toys around the Easter eggs, I am challenging their ability to focus. However, if they can stay engaged then it will enhance their attention regulation. How Implementation: will you use them? Why 1. Draw eggs onto construction paper have you chosen these strategies? 2. Write the same number/letter on the top and bottom of the eggs 3. Cut the eggs in half in a zig zag so that each side can be matched up like a puzzle 4. Decorate each side of the eggs with matching patterns 5. Lay out the halves all over the creative table 6. Demonstrate how to identify numbers and patterns as well as matching the eggs 7. Ask what colour/number is that?, is that a 3?, can you count to 4? 8. Show them half of an egg and ask them to find the other half based on the pattern, colour or number 9. Hold up an egg and ask what colour is my egg? 10. Ask the toddlers to help you clean up Teaching Strategies:
1. The first teaching strategy I will use is challenges.
To use this, I must find a way for the toddlers to create their own solutions. For example, if I show them one half of an egg and ask them to search for an egg that has the same pattern, then I will be challenging them. Also, if I ask them to show me all similar coloured eggs or how to fix the puzzle pieces then they will be finding new ways to use the Easter eggs.
2. The second teaching strategy I will use is
questions because the toddlers will be able to use their word more. If I ask them to find the other half of the egg Im holding or if they can count to 5 then they will be able to either verbally or physically answer my questions. Questions are a simple yet beneficial teaching strategy because it gets the toddlers thinking and keeps them more involved.
