QUESTION OF: COMBATING FOOD INSECURITY IN WAR TORN

COUNTRIES

The General Assembly,

Deeply concerned by the fact that 8.8% of the world population is

undernourished and that there is a rise in malnutrition to 31% among
children aged under 5 years old as opposed to 23% in 2005,

Taking into consideration that populations face problems like

undernourishment during crisis situations like wars,

Expressing deep concern that farmers are attacked and have to

evacuate leading to the rise in the number and area of unused land,
therefore resulting in a decrease in the yield of food crops harvest,

Bearing in mind that people affected in war torn countries tend to

immigrate illegally to other countries thus leading to food scarcity,

Deploring that climate change leads to more droughts therefore

resulting in water scarcity for consumption and irrigation,
