Statement of Purpose

Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity. The
excitement I have for the sciences - particularly Chemistry - urged me to
consider my future profession and how a science related degree could be a
probability for me. I have dependably appreciated biochemistry and
pharmaceutical chemistry all through my instruction and I have perceived that I
can consolidate both in a profession in pharmacy. In a developing country like
Pakistan, markets are filled with kiosk after kiosk selling pills, capsules, tablets,
and syrups of all types, for every type of ailment. It's almost impossible to tell
which ones are genuine, and which are potentially deadly fakes. Reports said
that almost all types of forged drugs are selling in all over Pakistan. As a person
with a sense of respect & love for human life I embraced the field of pharmacy.
I am Nosheen Shafique. I was born in 1990. I belong to an opulent family. I got
married in 2015. My husband is well qualified. He completed his Bachelors in
Mechanical Technology and now working in a reputed company in Pakistan. The
person who motivates me to get a higher degree and encourages me to fulfil my
dream is my husband. He supports me, so I intend to get Master of Pharmacy
degree from Australia because of good education standards, highly ranked
universities, most important thing is the advancements in research and extra
ordinary demand of Australian degrees in the world.
The first step out of school I decided to take up biology, physics & chemistry as
my optional subjects which would lay the foundations for my goal to get a degree
in medicine field. During my graduation in Biochemistry and Molecular biology, in
2012, in one incident alone, 120 people died after taking counterfeit heart
medicine. This incident consolidate my decision to get a master degree in
pharmacy.
In 2013 upon the completion of my bachelor degree, I set a goal to provide
genuine medicine to common man in my country and bring a positive change in
pharmaceutical industry.
Out of my own volition I have chosen Pharmaceutical Sciences, which offers
ample scope for research activities and these parallels with my aspiration of a
Master Degree. Pharmaceutical Sciences is considered with the study of the
scientific study of the composition, properties, and activities of substances,
Drugs and the changes they undergo. With the advancement in technology,
pharmaceutics has also evolved into a distinct discipline which has helped the
field of pharmacy everywhere in improving the efficacy of drugs by studying drug
absorption, distribution, metabolism etc., which would definitely help in the
manufacture of better drugs.
As a student of Biochemistry, I learnt that practical work & experience is more
important than just theoretical learning, as our profession involves extensive
experimentation & research. In pharmaceutical biochemistry I have learnt about
the constitution of the drug, its chances of degradation with varying temperature
etc. Half-life: how long a drug is stable when kept at specific temperature? The
storage condition required can be estimated by the biochemical test. For
example many enzymes, hormones are stored for dispensing. These get
deteriorated over time due to temperature or oxidation, contamination and also
due to improper storage. Metabolism gives an idea of how drug molecules are
metabolized by many biochemical reactions in presence of enzymes. This helps
to avoid drugs which have a poor metabolism or those with excessive side
effects from being prescribed or dispensed to the patient. Biochemical tests
helps fix the specific half-life or date of expiry of drugs.
For this purpose, I plump for Master of Pharmacy from Charles Sturt University
(CSU), Orange location, Australia.
The reason why I choose this particular institute is that, as CSU is
CSU is Australia's fifth largest university.

countries like Australia, United States of America and United Kingdom. The
reason why I choose Australia as study destination is that in my home country
the research methods are ancient and due to lack of advance technologies in
a third world country like Pakistan. No doubt a number of prestigious
institutes in Pakistan are offering the same programme in pharmaceutical
science but the matter of fact is that, Pakistan is still lagging behind research
and development. This is not because of lack of expertise but due to lack of
political will. The master of pharmacy degree at Charles Sturt University not
only meet the international caliber but also provide in depth knowledge of
pharmaceutical science and encompasses with recent advancements in
particular field.
Australia has diverse multi-cultural environment and so much more to offer
like its friendly, laid-back nature, excellent education system and high
standard of living making it hot spot for international students. Australia is a
country of opportunities for career, new culture and adventure. There are
many reasons why international students choose to study in Australia like

autonomy. I aspire to gain insight into contemporary management strategies
for pharmacy and health care as well as explore research and evaluation of
pharmacy services and practice. Upon completion when I come back to
Pakistan it will give me the far better opportunity as a hospital and
community and accredited pharmacist, to extend my practice in all WHO Star
Pharmacist domains towards advanced practice.
May proposed course will provide me the necessary expertise to eradicate the
poor conditions of pharmaceutical field and cope with fake drug production in
Pakistan.
I feel that Australia and specifically the Charles Sturt University will be great
place to study and provide me chance to broaden my horizons. I sincerely
hope that will be bestowed to study in Australia. So kindly grant me visa to
complete my intrinsic desire Australian pharmacy degree.
