INCLINING TEST CONDITIONS

ID : LPO1236275 Condition of the vessel :

To be re-submitted - It is to be indicated that "the ship should be as upright as possible, without exceeding list of 0.5
degrees".
- The anticipated liquid loading for the test should be included in the planning for the test. All tanks
should be empty and clean, or completely full. The number of slack tanks should be kept to an absolute
minimum. The viscosity of the fluid, the depth of the fluid and the shape of the tank should be such that
the free surface effect can be accurately determined".
- It is to be indicated that "the ship is to be as complete as possible at the time of the test. The number
of weights to be removed, added or shifted is to be limited to a minimum. Temporary material, tool
boxes, staging, sand, debris, etc., on board is to be reduced to an absolute minimum".
- List of missing and surplus weights is to be given. The total value of missing weights is not to exceed
2% and surplus weights, excluding liquid ballast, not exceed 4% of the lightship displacement.
- It is to be indicated that "main and auxiliary boilers, pipes and any other system containing liquids are
to be filled prior to the test."
- It is to be indicated that "all work on board is to be suspended and crew or personnel not directly
involved in the incline test are to leave the ship".

INCLINING TEST CONDITIONS

ID : LPO1236276 Pendulums :
To be re-submitted - Due to size of the vessel (and possible VCG of lightship) use of 3 pendulums is required. Use of U
tube or inclinometer is not recommended.
- Length of pendulums are to be justified (by preliminary calculations) that measured deflection of at
least 15 cm (to each sides) will be achieved.

ID : LPO1236277 Inclining weights :

To be re-submitted - It is to be indicated that the certificates of the inclining weights are to be presented to the Surveyor
witnessing the test and to be included in the final Test Report.
- Weight and location (shifting distance) of the inclining weights are to be justified by (by preliminary
calculations) that a minimum inclination of one degree and a maximum of four degrees of heel to each
side will be achieved.
- Inclining weights are to be so located that shifting of weights do not carouse additional trim on the
vessel.

ID : LPO1236278 Draft Survey :

To be re-submitted - Draught mark readings are to be taken at aft, midship and forward, at starboard and port sides. A
sketch indicating actual (and exact) locations of the marks to be given.
- Freeboard readings on port and starboard are to be taken on at least 5 different locations along the
vessels length (not to be coincidence with the draft marks locations) should be taken during the draft
survey. Exact locations of these readings to be indicated. Deck height, deck thickness and height of
possible obstructions (such as bulwark, fish plate, etc.) to be indicated in order to accurately calculate
the drafts at these locations.
