Overcoming poverty in solidarity

Fostering transformation through the power of God's love

PNA BASIC STATEMENTS

PNA SLOGAN 1

Overcoming poverty in Solidarity

PNA SLOGAN 2

Fostering transformation through the power of God's love

PNA VISION (What PNA desires to see)

A world more like heaven

PNA EXPANDED VISION

Individuals, families and communities reconciled, healed, transformed, empowered and impelled to
action by God's love - leading to poor neighborhoods and communities being continuously transformed
to become more and more like the future Kingdom of Heaven

PNA MISSION (what PNA seeks to do to help that vision come about)

To help people experience, to be transformed by and to be moved to action by God's love

PNA EXPANDED MISSION

By the love of God the Father, through his son Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit, together with
others, directly and indirectly, to help people, especially those who are materially poor, to experience,
know, accept, be reconciled by, be healed by, be transformed by and be impelled to action by God's
steadfast, merciful, gracious and infinite love

PNA CORE VALUES

Love, Justice, Humility, Service, Reconciliation, Solidarity, Collaboration and Partnership,

Empowerment, Mission, and Prayer.
PNA MAIN OBJECTIVES (the specific outcomes towards which PNA is working)

I) To see as many people as possible increasingly understanding, sharing and being moved to action by
God's special love for the poor
II) To see as many people as possible being increasingly equipped to live out more faithfully the
preferential option for the poor
III) To see as many people as possible being inspired and equipped to live as Missionary Servants of
God's Love for the Poor - that is as people dedicated in a special way to evangelisation, to serving the
poor, to fighting poverty and to helping others evangelise, serve the poor and fight poverty.
IV) To see as many people as possible in poor areas:
a) experiencing, knowing, accepting, being reconciled by, being healed by, transformed by, inspired by
and moved to action by God's love,
b) being active in their local church and part of some form of loving and committed christian
charismatic community life
c) becoming, and growing as, Missionary Servants, especially missionary servants of God's love for
the poor
d) being equipped, character-wise and skill-wise, to exit poverty and remain out of poverty
e) actually exiting poverty and remaining out of poverty
V) To see poor areas continually transformed to become more like the Kingdom of Heaven: to
increasingly see in these areas more love, justice, peace, health, prosperity, abundance, beauty and for
people in these areas to experience more and more of the fulness of life that Jesus came to bring.
VI) To see as many rich and poor people as possible, from different backgrounds, situations and places,
encountering one another in such a way that they are mutually enriched and that they better experience,
understand and respond to poverty and to God's heart of love for the poor

AN IMPORTANT NOTE
The six words together with others, directly and indirectly are extremely important to understanding
PNA's mission. PNA does not try to do everything itself or to keep control of everything itself. PNA
rather seeks to increase its impact by working with others whenever it can, by fostering collaboration,
partnership, and strategic alliances and by raising up, training, inspiring, equipping and supporting
others to work for the overcoming of poverty and for social and individual transformation. PNA seeks
to carry out its mission in four main ways: a) collaborating and partnering with others in joint work
(roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes being clearly defined), b) supporting the work of others, c)
networking, linking and coordinating (to facilitate and initiate work, to inspire people to work and to
better equip people for work), d) running its own events, activities and programs.
