JKR/SPJ/1988 atau JKR/SPJ/2008 dan semua keputusan ujian lulus.
Source of fine aggregate approved.
M Agregat halus diuji sepenuhnya di independent lab berdasarkan
JKR/SPJ/1988 atau JKR/SPJ/2008 dan semua keputusan ujian lulus.
M Each aggregate is stored in a separate stockpile.
Stockpile of fine aggregate is kept under a waterproof roof

4 MIX DESIGN
Mix design prepared and approved by KPPS/JD.

5 LABORATORY TEST EQUIPMENT

content of bituminous tack coat (i.e. grade of tack coat).

6 QC SYSTEM

PLANT OPERATIONS
7 COLD FEED BINS
Cold feed system shall consist of not less than 5 bins with
suitable capacity.
M Each aggregate is stored in a separate cold bin.
M No spill over of aggregates into adjacent bins.
Each bin is equipped with a control gate and measuring feeder
for accurate blending of aggregates on to cold feed collecting
conveyor.
Cold feed system shall incorporate a device for moisture
compensation capable of producing an accurate and continuous
blend of aggregates from the cold feed bins.
Separate dry storage is provided for mineral filler.
Equipped with a screen of size 50 mm to discard oversized

aggregates before entering the drum mixer.

8 DRUM MIXER

Drum mixer shall be inclined, oil-fired and sufficiently insulated.

Samples of aggregates can be obtained before entering the drum
mixer eg. from the link conveyor.
Fresh mixed asphalt is delivered and stored in a surge silo
through a proper conveyor system.
9 PLANT SETTING
Computer able to display details of mixing proportion (and flow
rate) according to approved mix design, and mix temperatures.
The accuracy of aggregates, filler and bitumen flow rates have
been checked and verified.
Print out of recent mix production (< 1 month) which shows the

aggregates, filler and bitumen tonnages is available.
The accuracy of the plant setting as displayed on the computer
M
screen have been checked and verified.

10 BITUMEN STORAGE TANK
Have means of indicating the volume of bitumen at all times.
Have means of drawing off samples.
Provides for continuous circulation of hot bitumen through
the bitumen feeding system and back into the bitumen storage
tank.
The end of the return line discharging into the bitumen storage
tank shall be kept submerged in the bitumen to prevent oxidation
of the returning hot bitumen.
A thermometer is fitted to the bitumen storage tank or bitumen
