1 .- INTRODUCTION
The proposed initial assessment is designed to be worked in early course in comp
ulsory secondary education. The model is focused on the 2nd cycle of ESO. In the
preparation of this material has been taken into account the Basic Curricular D
esign Science Social Geography and History of the Basque Autonomous Community. T
he students of the ESO, in addition to knowledge about the world and Europe, nee
d to know their autonomous region as it is the environment in which they live. W
ith this initial evaluation proposal aims to provide a range of possible activit
ies spread over a number of paragraphs. These activities can modify, add or dele
te according to the characteristics of the groups to assess, adapt to them. In a
ddition, this initial assessment model can be adapted to evaluate other courses
of the ESO, taking into account previously, the contents (procedural, conceptual
) worked by students in previous courses. The development of this assessment is
framed in the following scheme: 1.1. Detecting background. 1.2. Characteristics
of the initial evaluation. 1.3. Aspects to take into account in the initial eval
uation.
1.1 .- DETECTION OF PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
For this section we recommend the following proposals for discussion and action:
a) What do we expect students to know when you start the course on the subject
of Social Sciences, Geography and History? b) What previous skills and abilities
they have and should we be gaining? c) What is the level of vocabulary knowledg
e they have on this matter? d) What level of understanding of texts are?
Ana Basterra Leioa Berritzegune 1.2. DETAILS OF THE ASSESSMENT This section prov
ides for the following proposal: a) Try to get an idea of what the real situatio
n of our students. b) To propose further activities according to the progress of
those students. c) That the initial assessment we always serve as a guideline t
o start the course and classroom scheduling. 1.3. ASPECTS TO CONSIDER IN THE ASS
ESSMENT a) Assessment of the three content types (procedural, attitudinal and co
nceptual). b) Using different techniques that allow us to see the situation of t
he group (speech and oral and written comprehension, search and selection of inf
ormation, interpretation of texts and images, understanding the notion of time,
cambiocontinuidad ,...). c) With the initial assessment is to start the teaching
process.
2. CLASSROOM PREPARATION
The classroom should have the appropriate materials to facilitate the retrieval
of information by students (textbooks from previous courses, dictionaries, encyc
lopedias, slides, a computer with Internet access ,...). The school library migh
t be a suitable place to perform this assessment.
3. METHODOLOGY
It is desirable that the activities proposed in this initial evaluation is done
individually because, in this way, the teacher will have specific information fo
r each pupil and student. However, once corrected by the teacher's activities, w
ould be very interesting to make a sharing in the classroom to observe the diffe
rent skills and attitudes of our students in class: oral expression, class parti
cipation, respect of speaking time, individual difficulties .. It is advisable t
hat students can seek information from various sources since what is to assess a
t this time are mainly procedural and attitudinal content.

Immigrants of various races, dressed in traditional costumes Basques, look at th

campaign designed by several municipalities and financed by the Government of Vi

sented in the local municipality which aspires to live. There, a social worker (
paid by the Basque Government) provide registered, a report with your needs and
aspirations and provide shelter. "All municipalities with more than 20,000 inhab
itants should have a shelter for these cases. Those who do not have to be paid a
pension to newcomers," says Omer. This will continue until the social worker wi

ow benefit from that salary, which from the year of residence is transformed int
o an annuity, also monthly, from 435.17 euros. In the case, quite often, that th
e immigrant does not speak Castilian, the social worker referred him to a school
of Continuing Education for Adults (EPA), where they teach the language. If a m
inor, public and state schools put available linguistic courses in Euskera and C
astilian and specific school programs. The perception of the basic income from a
broad involves incorporating a program of training and job search."People in an
irregular situation do not have access to job placement and training to the Nati
onal Employment Institute (INEM)," argues Omer. "We offer, for free, a complete
set of courses that INEM. The Basque Government is also funding a service of law
yers in full-time basis, pending consideration by the central government request
s for residence permits and work without papers. Works for a year and a half in
that time has attended to 10 402 5306 immigrants and has produced records. Of th

hed a program to "capture" empty houses. Offers homeowners loans of up to 18,000
euros to the restore and then rent them for five years. Relet by the Executive
between 90 and 180 euros per month and pays the difference between the monthly a
