LIVING HOPE METHODIST CHURCH

A PRAYERBOOK FOR LENT 2017

1
Jesus invites us!
Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest. (Matthew 11:28)

Lent is the season of the Christian Year when we intentionally follow

Jesus, who spent 40 days and nights fasting and praying in the wilderness
before beginning His ministry. We invite you to use this Prayerbook to
follow Him by reflecting on your life through Lent, the 40 weekdays
before Easter.

The pattern of the book is simple. Each week begins with Morning prayer
followed by daily Scripture reading and Personal reflections. Then there is
Midday prayer and Evening prayer, and ends with the Lords prayer. On
Fridays, we recommend fasting during lunchtime. You can fast from food,
or from anything that might distract you from hearing Gods voice. There
are separate prayers and readings for each day of Holy Week.

May you find rest in the Lord as you follow Him through Lent!
