WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE

Last year, when I left school and before I went to university, I got a summer job in
Bournemouth with young people from different countries. The young people came to
England to study English. They studied every morning from 8.30 to 12.30. In the
afternoons we visited interesting places with them. There were six other students like
me by the end of the summer we were best friends!

Every two weeks we went to London Airport to meet new students and welcome them
to England. The coach journey from Bournemouth is two hours, so we spent the time
on the way back telling them about the course and the activities.

Three times a week we did sports with the students and twice a week we visited the
local area. At weekends we travelled to different parts of the country. We went to
Bath, London, Edinburgh and Cardiff.

In London we all stayed in a small hotel near Victoria Station and on the first day we
went on the London Eye. The students loved it. Then we did the bus sightseeing tour.
On Sunday we went to Camden Market and the British Museum the museum was my
favourite part of the visit. Some students thought it was boring, but I loved it. Most of
the students preferred the market it was their favourite part of the visit. We really
needed much more time to see everything!
