BUSINESS ETHICS

Social responsibility deals with how individuals and organizations handle current social
issues. Business ethics are concerned with the day-to-day behavior standards of individuals and
organizations. Ethics are standards or principle of conduct used to govern the behavior of an
individual or group of individuals. Ethics are generally concerned with questions of right or
wrong or with moral duties. Ethical standards can be developed by an individual, a group of
individuals, or society. Laws are ethics formalized by a society; they are usually concerned with
principles of conduct. Organizational ethics, however, generally deal more with the behavior of
individuals or groups of individuals not covered by the law.
