Resume of English: Unit 7, 8, 9

Unit 7:
1.- First Conditional:
-We use the first conditional to talk about a possible situation in the future.
(Nosotros usamos el primer condicional para hablar sobre posibles
situaciones en el futuro).
-Structure:
If + Present Simple , will/wont + verb. No se usa will despus
de if.
-Tambin se pueden usar otros verbos adems de will: may, might, could.
Adems con el present simple se puede hablar del future: When I see
him, Ill tell him. As soon as he arrives, well have dinner.
2.- Gerunds and infinitives:
-Gerundio: terminacin: ing.
Ejemplos de Gerundios: enjoy, finish, consider, miss, imagine,
suggest, understand, give up, risk, practice.
-Infinitivo: acompaado de: to.
Ejemplos de Infinitivos: want, decide, seem, offter, promise, afford,
hope, expect, agree, arrange, choose, manage, ask.
3.- Stop, try, remember: gerunds and infinitives:

Unit 8:
1.- Present Simple Passive: When the subject to do the action.
-Structure: active subject + verb + object
Example: She cleans my room every day. (Ella limpia mi cuarto
todos los das).
We use the passive form when who/what causes the action is unknown or
not important.
-Structure: passive subject + am/is/are + past pasrticiple
Example: Most computers are made in Asia. (Muchas computadoras
son hechas en Asia)
2.- Prepositions of time: in, on, at:
a.- In: se usa para largos periodos de tiempo (meses, estaciones, aos,
etc.)
My exams are in june.
b.- On: se usa para das especficos y fechas.
My girl friend Jocelyn took me out for dinner on Valentines Day.
c.- At: se usa para tiempos.
I usually leave work at 5:30 p.m.
3.- Past Continuous and Past Simple:
a.-Past Continuous: se usa el pasado continuo para hablar de una accin
en progreso en un tiempo particular del pasado.
Adam was cooking when i got home.
b.- Past Simple: se usa para hablar de acciones completadas en el pasado.
I sent David an email yerterday.
4.- Vocabulary:
a.-Speed:

b.- Phrasal verbs about relationships:

Unit 9:
1.- Can, Could, be able to: ability
a.- Ability in the present: can(t) + infinitive
Ejemplo: She cant speak any other languages.
b.- Ability in the past: could(nt) + infinitive
was(nt)/were(nt) able to + infinitive
Ejemplo: I could swin when I was five years old.
I couldnt ride a bicycle until I was twelve years old.
He wasnt able to play the guitar when he was younger.
2.- Adverbs of manner: describen cmo alguien hace algo o cmo sucede
algo.
Ejemplo: He answered the phone quickly.
Muchos son reconocidos por la terminacin ly

*Nota: No pude escribir ms sobre el tema de los adverbs of
manner porque consider lo ms importante. :(
3.- Past Simple Passive:
a.- Active: El sujeto realiza la accin.
Ejemplo: Sarah made a beautiful mirror for Sams birthday.
b.- Pasive: El sujeto no realiza la accin.
Ejemplo: This camera was made in China.
4.- Vocabulary:
