HOLLOW SQUARE ACTIVITY (30 min.) MATERIALS.

The hollow square activity gives an opportunity to think about working with other people to Square

Students form groups of two or four. Pass out materials and read through the directions Pieces

1. Working together, finish the assigned task as carefully and accurately as you can.
2. Each of you has pieces of an overall design. Your task is to figure out how to place the
pieces together so that they form a square with a small, hollow square in the center.
3. You must use all the pieces.
4. Keep all your pieces in front of you all the time.
5. You may not touch other peoples pieces or trade pieces.
6. You may not write on the pieces.

DEBRIEF (20 min.)
