Course Materials: Materials will be posted on the course webpage at the AUS
blackboard website iLearn. You must also bring the textbook to the
class.

Attendance: You are expected to attend all required classes. The Student
Handbook outlines the procedures for dismissal from the course for non-
attendance. Attendance in the lectures is very important. You are responsible for
all of the material presented in lectures. Late arrival to class is very disruptive,
and should be avoided.

Homework:

Homework problems from the textbook will be assigned throughout the

semester. Students are urged to work seriously on the homework assignments
as part of their study and practice.

Exams:

Two midterm exams will be conducted. Final exam will be scheduled by the
registrar. There will be no make-up examinations. If a student misses an exam
without an excuse, a zero will be given in that exam. If a student misses one of
the midterm exams due to an excused absence (i.e., documented emergency or
illness), the average of the other exams will be used to get the grade of the
missed one. All exams are closed-book; equations that are difficult to be
memorized and necessary information will be provided.

Academic Honesty/Integrity:

Academic honesty is extremely important. You must be sure to do your own

work and protect your work from plagiarism by others. Delete your files from the
work space on the computer when you are leaving. If there is any evidence that
the Academic Honesty Policy has been violated, you may be subject to severe
penalties, ranging from receiving a grade of F for the course to dismissal from
the University. If you fall behind in your work, it is better to accept a zero score
for a particular assignment than to compromise your honesty.
