LUNG

The lung is the main organ of the respiratory system. Located in the rib cage
above the diaphragm.
The left and right lungs are wrapped and protected by the pleura, a membrane
consisting of two sheets. Both lungs are and are separated in the middle by the
mediastinum. Each is composed of lung lobes, three right lung and left only two
due to the space occupied by the heart. Each lung is connected to the trachea
through a main bronchus progressively divided into smaller bronchi and
bronchioles then. Many of them are alveoli and this increases the exchange
surface allowing gas exchange between alveolar air and blood .

PULMON
El pulmn es el principal rgano del aparato respiratorio. Situados en la caja
torcica por encima del diafragma.
Los pulmones izquierdo y derecho estn envueltos y protegidos por la pleura,
una membrana constituida por dos hojas. Ambos pulmones estn separados en
su centro por el mediastino. Cada pulmn est constituido por lbulos, por tres
el pulmn derecho y slo dos el izquierdo debido al espacio que ocupa el
corazn. Cada pulmn est conectado a la trquea a travs de un bronquio
principal, que se divide progresivamente en bronquios ms pequeos y luego
en bronquiolos. De ellos resultan numerosos alveolos y esto aumenta la
superficie de intercambio que permite el intercambio gaseoso entre el aire del
alveolo y la sangre.
