Is se utiliza para nombres en singular ( a pen, a chair...)

There is a pen
There is a chair
y tambin para nombres incontables ( water, milk......)
There is some water= Hay agua
There is some milk= Hay leche
Are se utiliza para el plural ( monkeys, tables.....)
There are 3 monkeys
There are some tables.

Traducciones
There is / are = Hay
Is/ there? = Hay?
There isnt / arent = No hay

Cuando hablamos de cantidades indefinidas solemos utilizar SOME o ANY

como sabes some es el plural de los artculos a y an ( a book // some books)
There are some pens on the table = Hay bolgrafos en la mesa
Are there any pens on the table?= Hay boligrafos en la mesa?
There arent any pens on the table = No hay bolgrafos en la mesa.
Si te das cuenta some se utiliza solo en frases afirmativas , mientras que any se utiliza para frases
interrogativas y negativas.
