Point A Ball Bearing

Equation 12-16 will be used to calculate all the diameters, the equation
is given below
2.94 2.5 ( 450.48) 3
D1 :=
28921
D1 = 0.586
Since we have no moment at A (Moment will be zero) and we do not have a sholder, step or an
elementthe Kt factor will be zero. There is no torque at point A
Since the torque is steady I will mutiplying my calculated diameter by 6%
D1 = 0.586 x 6 % = .62116 in diameter. Standardized to .8 in

Point B at Spur Gear

Equation 12-24 will be used to calculate all the diameters, the equation
is given below
To the left of point B we have a retaining ring. We also have to account for the key. A well
rounded radius will be specified where D1 joins D2
Kt factor for groove will be 3, tourque will be 0 lb an moment left of B will be 1932.00 lb
Kt2 := 2.5
Kt1 := 3

Point C (Chain Sprocket) to the right and left and key

Equation 12-24 will be used to calculate all the diameters, the equation

At point C we have 1 retaining ring. We also have to account for the square key for this area
Kt factor for well rounded fillet will be 1.5, tourque will be 700 lb in, for the round sholder to the left

Point E(Second V-Belt Pully) and to the left and right

Equation 12-24 will be used to calculate all the diameters, the equation

At point E we have a retaining ring on both sides and a Key. We will use the torque of 420lb for
calculations at E and to the left of E, but to the right the torque will be 0. The same Kt factor (Kt3)

will be used, the only change will be the moment. The moment at E is 958.915 lb in

is given below
2.94 2.5 ( 166.89) 3

Since we have no moment at A (Moment will be zero) and we do not have a sholder, step or an

Since the Kt factor is zero I will substatute it by mutiplying my calculated diameter by 6%
