Communications, an article in the proceedings of the 81st Annual Association of
Business Communications annual conference.
2016: Breaking Through the Silos: Collaboration that Supports Instruction, a chapter in
the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) book Creative Approaches to
Instructional Design in Libraries: Moving from Theory to Practical Application (coauthored with Anne Larrivee, Binghamton University).
2016: Using ePortfolios Instead of an LMS: A Model to Promote Lifelong Learning and
Professional Development, an article in the inaugural issue of the Association of

Assisted in drafting policy language for the University regarding ADA
compliance, belonging, diversity and inclusion, and classroom disruption.
2008 2014: Project Manager and Instructional Designer, Cornell University
o Managed faculty innovation in teaching grants (i.e. budget lines, teams) that
impacted learning and teaching at the University.
o Coordinated research studies in the use of ePortfolios and eTextbooks in
learning and teaching in higher education.
o Co-designed two of the Universitys first Massive Open Online Courses
(MOOCs) in collaboration with a cross-campus team.
2000 2008: Director of Academic Tech., Tompkins Cortland Community College
o Supervised a large team in supporting academic technology initiatives and
efforts across campus.
o Oversaw all online programs, the certification of faculty in online course
development, and all coordinated reporting with the greater SUNY.
o Served the Professional Administrators Association as its President.
o Selected to serve the greater SUNY on state-wide tasks forces and committees
as charged by the SUNY Provost (ex. SUNY Technology Sub-Committee,
Learning Management System Taskforce).

o Researched various teaching pedagogies and shared with clients.
o Developed training programs in quality online course development.

Video Game (not funded, 2016, National Science Foundation, Advancing Informal
STEM Learning Program)
o Collaborated with a regional team in preparing a research study on using
gamification strategies to increase the retention of learning in STEM courses.
o Received strong scores from the review panel in Intellectual Merit of the
proposed collaborative research study.
Learning Spaces Research Program (funded, 2014-present, Herman Miller)
o Collaborated on created an innovative learning studio at Binghamton University
for researching the impact of space/environment on learning.
o Presented at regional conferences on the findings of the study.
eTextbook & eContent Research Pilot (collaborative research, 2012-2013, via
EDUCAUSEs Internet2 Net+ division)
o Coordinated pilot research on the Cornell University campus regarding the use
of electronic textbooks and content in learning and teaching.
o Participated in planning and reporting efforts with other partner institutions.
o Successfully moved from pilot to service based on research findings.
The ALICE Project (funded, 2003-2006, National Science Foundation, Advance
Technological Education grant)
o Obtained TC3s first NSF grant and acted as Co-PI for the campus.
o Collaborated with Dr. Randy Pausch of Carnegie-Mellon University on
designing a research project to study the impact of object-oriented-based
learning strategies on the teaching of computer programming.
o Presented campus findings and collaborated with several partner institutions on
the project on a yearly basis.

o Represented and negotiated for fellow professional administrators to the

o Advised Vice-Provosts office on Learning Management Systems (LMS).
o Collaborated with state-wide team on choosing a SUNY-wide LMS.
1992 2004: Ithaca Festival (Ithaca, NY), Craft Show Promoter
o Directed and marketed annual craft shows.
o Collaborated with festival team on marketing, sales, and planning.
1997 1998: Firehouse Theater (Ithaca, NY), Public Relations Director
o Directed all public relations and marketing efforts.
o Transitioned the theatre from paste-up design methods to the digital design of
all of its media: marketing material, posters and playbills.
