Many otourplantations, especially those in Sarawak, are locatedinremote areas
that indigenous communitas call home, In these areas, we are a participant of,
the Native Customary Rights (‘NOR’) Land Development programme that is
conducted by the Sarawak Land Custody and Development Authority, ang
ur contribution to the programme sees us jointly develop and manage the
plantations with native landowners. As of end 2015, 4,915 hectares of our
Sarawak plantations are being developed under the programme, which pays
out a steady stream of sustainable income to 3,610 indigenous land owners.
We have also instituted a land lease programme involving lands belonging to
ratives, which we develop into ol palm plantations. The land lease benefits
a further 794 land owners. In 2075, about RMi.3 milion was paid out to the
native community under these two intatives.

Our Vendor Development Initiative
(VDI) is an intiative to encourage
individuals from these communities
to start businesses that can supply

government's move to further the
Bumiputera Agenda, we especially
encourage the participation of
Bumiputera contractors and
vendors in the VDI. Out of the 836

VDI, $4 are Bumiputera businesses
