Ways to illustrate
Be familiar with all related work.
Dont list each paper you read.
Mainly talk about results that are
immediately related to what you did.
References at the end of the talk or better
in the paper itself.

Animation (less is more)
Maximum 5 points
Mechanics: punctuation, font highlights, etc.

Fonts
Be consistent with font choice.

Capitalize only when necessary.


Use different size fonts for main points and
secondary points:
this font is 24-point, the main point font is
32-point, and the title font is 44-point
Use font color that contrasts sharply with the
background
Trying to be creative can be bad.

BIG No-No

AVOID:
Various different font types and colour.

Fancy and colourful slides theme/layout.


Inappropriate animation.
Typing the entire paragraph on slides.
Unnecessary capitalization or highlights.

Graphs & Charts

Take note:
Pay attention to font and data size.

Avoid minor gridlines.


Inappropriate animation or colours.
Include TITLE and SOURCE (if necessary).
Avoid distracting shadings.

Delivering the
presentation

When presenting:
Be enthusiastic! If you arent why should
the audience be?
Make eye contact with the audience.
Point at the screen not the computer.
Do not read directly from the PPT or your
notes.
Finish in time!

TASK
Presentation: 17th August 2016
Length: 15-20 minutes
Dress code: Smart casual
Group: Slides and teamwork (5%)
Individual presentation: 10% (Delegate parts accordingly)

Additional note:
Print a copy of slides as reference for your lecturer.

Limit number of slides (keep track on TIME).


Include NAME, STUDENT ID and Research Title on the first
slide.

PRESENTATION (15%)
Group presentation: 20 minutes
Components to present:
1. Introduction (Background, Problem Statement,
Objectives, RQ, Significance, Limitation)
2. Literature Review (Highlight 2 or 3)
3. Methodology (Design, Participants, Instruments,
Procedure)
4. Findings (Section A, B, C)
5. Discussion (RQ1 & RQ2)
6. Conclusion (Summary of findings, Implication for
Future Research, Recommendations)
7. References

RESEARCH REPORT (50%)


1. Binded with coursework cover sheet
2. Cover page: - SEGi Logo, Research Topic, Group Members
full name and student ID number
3. Include content page
4. Attach 5 sample copies of filled questionnaire as
Appendices
5. Email soft copy of research write-up.
6. Deadline by 26th August 2016 by 5pm (Friday)
7. 5% PER DAY will be deducted for late submission.
