There are many cruelty free testing methods that can be used in place of animal testing.
Skinethic and Epiderm are two kinds of synthetic 3D skin that are used in countries where
Animal Testing is illegal. They are not only more reliant to humans but also the cost to conduct
such experiments is vastly cheaper. Animal testing in many countries such as the Europe, India,
and Israel is banned. The United States and China are one of the only countries that permits the
testing of animals. A portion of animal testing funds also is taken out of taxpayers money. Many
government programs such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug
Administration, the National Toxicology Program are just some of the agencies that subject
animals to horrible treatment and unfair testing. This article is relevant to the research because it
summarizes many methods of how there are many substitutes for animal testing and where the
funding comes from to support animal testing.
Peta. "Be a Hero to Animals in Labs." PETA. PETA, June-July 2012. Web. 23 Sept. 2016.
There are many ways people who are interested in ending the cruel treatment to animals
in labs can contribute. You can contact PETA, an animal protection organization that helps fight
animal abuse, testing, and the all around poor treatment of animals. If a person is to discover an
illegal lab or knows where animals are being treated poorly they may send an e-mail, call their
hotline number, or contact the Animal Welfare Center who will then contact PETA. All can be
done completely anonymously so the identity of the person is kept safe and secret. This article is
relevant to the research because it shows how one can make a change to bust cruelty labs and
help abused animals.
