important goal. Some people, however, think that other types of

progress are equally important for a country.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
It is significant for the government to rise their countrys
comprehensive power among the world. Some people argue that
government should give priority to economic progress, while others
argue that there are other types of progress, which should be as
important as improving economy.
Economic progress may be the most important goal for a country,
since with the development of economy, the life standards of
citizens in that country will increase. To judge a country is developed
or not, the major standard is that the condition of peoples life in
that country is good or not. As long as the economy improve, a
country would have more money to pour into other indispensable
aspects, including education and medical issues, and then the
publics life would become much better. The rise of countrys
medical standard means people will have a longer life expectancy to
contribute more to the society. The same as educational progress, a
country can benefit from more talent labor forces.
On the other hand, other types of progress like culture and peoples
happiness are equally important for a country. Culture plays an
important role in the development of a society, since culture can
convey a positive energy to make a harmonious and close-knit
society.
Moreover, the progress of citizens owning happiness also can not be
ignored. People are likely to make more efforts to make the country
a better place, since they live happily here. Research shows that
people have a happy life when they have1000 dollars per month,
while those who have 10000 dollars per month do not feel happy. So
happy does not link with how wealthy they are.
As far as I concerned, I reckon that economic progress is really
important for a country; meanwhile we can not overlook the
progress of culture and peoples happiness, which is also significant
for a country.
