Pursuant to the power of the Department of Budget and Management


(DBM) to administer the compensation and position classification
sys~m established under Republic Act No. 6758 as amended, and the
authority of the DBM under Administrative Order No. 42 to continue
to prescribe policies, standards and rules on compensation and
position classification in the local govemmen~ the attached revised
Index of Occupational Services, Position Titles and Salal)' Grades is
hereby issued.

2.0

The Revised Index of Occupational Services, Position Titles and


Salary Grades reflects the changes in the existing Index of classes of
positions of Local Govem~ent Units as established under Joint
Commission Circular Nos. 37 and 39.

3.0

Henceforth, all positions in the local government units shall be


allocated to their proper position titles and sa~arygrades in accordance
with said Index.

4.0

Local government personnel whose classes of positions have been


reallocated to a lower salary grade shall continue to receive their
present salary. Once these positions are vacated, the authorized salary
of concerned positions shall be as prescribed herein.

5.0

All rules or regulations inconsistent with the provisions of this


Circular shall be deemed modified accordingly.

6.0

This Circular takes effect immediately.
