Metal ogen@ HMI Lamps are light sources combining a high uminous eff cacy with
a day like spectrum, and a high colour rendering ndex. Moreover. due to their
compact uminous arc, these spec a d scharge lamps are optimum I ght sources
for spot and f ood I ohtino.

Technical Data
For the generat on of I ghi the lamps contain an optimum comb nation of various
metal hal des of rare earths The discharge vessel consists of a quarlz glass body
w th rod-shaped tungsten eLectrodes. Molybdenum ribbons sea ed in quartz g ass
are used as current leads. HM 200 W has knife plug bases, lMl 575 W and
HM 1200 W have threaded pin bases, the higher powered models HMI 2500 W and
HN,4l 4000 W have p n bases. Even under adverse aonditions (e.g a high ambient
temperature in the lamp houslng, over vo tage of the mains supp y, etci the base

Description

HM1 lamps are des qned for operation on 22OV A.C on y (HMl 4000 W: 380 V A.C.).
Chokes, leakage transformers, or other suitable balasts serve as current- imiting
dev ces. The minimum supply voltage depends on the e ectric propefties of such
equipment. Addresses of suppliers of power suppl es and ignition dev ces upon
request Reliabe igntion, paaricularly in a hot state, wl be achieved by the RC
combination (R and C] in the w r nq diaqram below).

Life

The service life depends to some extent on the number of stads and m r ht even
exceed the va ues given in the tab e. However, it is main y governed by the permisslble tolerances of aolourtemperature (which may vary according to appllcation).
During amp lfe, the nearest colour temperature wi ldrop at an average of approx.
1 K per operating hour wh lst the co our render ng index will remaln unchanged,
and the decrease of the luminous eff cacy and luminous flux is very ow (fiq 4)
