RESPONSIBILITY
4.1

5.0

The Project Manager, Construction Manager, Station Manager (Project


Specific) Via-Duct DPM, Casting Yard In charge, P& M In charge, Stores
In charge, Sub-Contractors assisted by the site engineers , Foremen &
EHS Manager / Officer / Supervisor shall ensure that the following
requirements.

PROCEDURE
5.1

Designated area to be identified for placing Compressed Cylinders by the


Stores In charge, Sub-Contractors and ensured by the EHS Officer /
Manager / Officer / Supervisor.

5.2

Bifurcating of O2 Cylinders, DA Cylinder, Commercial Cylinders to be


done by keeping full and empty separate with display signage and other
required no smoking etc signage by Stores In charge and ensured by
EHS Manager / Officer / Supervisor.

5.3

Compressed cylinders must be stacked at least 30 meters away from the


working area and should not be kept near Diesel storage area and
Electrical DG set etc.

5.4

Compressed cylinders must be kept up right / Vertical position and


adequately chained individually and not in group with rope etc.

5.5

Compressed cylinders should not to be rolled whether empty or full and it


is not safe to do so.

5.6

Compressed cylinders must be carried or move in a trolley only not manual


shifted. And it is the responsibility of the Site Execution Team, SubContractors and EHS Personnel to ensure the same. Any deviation found
or non adherence found the work must be stopped.

5.7

Leak test must be ensured by the concern before start of the activity with
trailer made checklist done and ensured by EHS Personnel.

5.8

NRV with flash back arrestor must be ensured for all gas cutting sets

5.9

Welding machines must be in good working condition. All perimeters of the


Welding machine like emergency switch, cooling fan, Ammeter, Voltmeter,
earthing, leads and lugs are adequately fixed etc to be checked through
trailer made checklist and ensured by the EHS personnel.

5.10

Suitable PPE must be worn by the operatives throughout the activity.

5.11

In Case of Incident / Accident pls refer to BOCWR 1988 Sec 74 for reporting
procedure to be followed.

6.0

TRAINING
6.1 EHS Manager / Officer / Supervisor must brief the working crafts about
associated risks. During Tool Box Talks, In House Training,
Mass Tool Box and Dynamic HIRA etc and to be recorded and review.
