Every Thing Weve Heard

Paula Zuccotti, author ofEvery Thing We Touch,has createda new series of photographsin keeping with
her subject of everyday lives told through objects.This time she has chosen to create an imaginary day in
the life of the candidates of the US Presidential election, as portrayed by our collective imagination during
an extraordinary campaign.
Intrigued by the topics that have captured peoples attention the most with regards to their public personas,
she looked for visual clues from the hottest stories to reflect upon how we are experiencing this campaign:
the polarising views and slogans; the passion and anger; the allegations and leaks; the outrage and
mundane events that inspired the best memes; the prying Q&As found on the web - is their hair real?, are
they ill?, what do they eat?, what do they read?, how do they unwind?
Using everyday objects and juxtaposing the important and the irrelevant, the resulting caricature
compositions are a visual synthesis of everything thathas been said, seen, posted, tweeted, discussed
and ultimately mesmerised us.

About Paula Zuccotti

Paula Zuccotti works at the intersection of society, technology and culture and has a unique eye for spotting
emerging trends and behaviours, working across design, innovation and the visual arts.
The London-based Argentine Industrial Designers focus on user-centric research has been paramount to
her career as an innovation, insights and strategic consultant and her distinctive visual style has led her to
direct global campaigns and exhibit her work at galleries around the world. In 2012 she founded the
creative consultancy TheOverworld, and was formerly Director of Futures and Head of Research at
Seymourpowell product design.
Her first book Every Thing We Touch (Penguin Random House) documents our relationship with everyday
objects and received a great international reception from both the mainstream and specialised media. The
Mandarin edition will be published in November 2016.
Paula continues to explore new possibilities for Every Thing We Touch, including a documentary in the
making and the use of everyday objects as a platform to offer an alternative and universal (no translation
required) way of looking, thinking and articulating whats is happening around us.
Currently she is also co-curating an international photographic competitionA day in the life.
