Bare, outdoors night sculpture, 2012

In a broken dream
MFA thesis show
Bezalel academy

A sculptural installation that contains three objects:
P.O.V - a window piece
Take Two - double side projection
YOU - embroidery over acrylic board
Driven by thoughts of emotional cinematic representations, my interest in Universal Studios as a
reference, started from an attraction to the word itself. I found myself repeatedly watching the studio's
logo intro, how it burst into the screen from behind earth, surrounding it, until finally stabilizing in front
of us viewers. Looking over and over this action, that graphically evolved so much since the early days
of this company, made me somehow uncomfortably feel that the logo is spinning around me. Gazing out
of my studio window, I imagined it crossing my skyline, in its reversed side.
I paused it right on the moment that it reveals itself, to realize Im left with the letter U. It immediately
represented for me the idea of the other, of Y ou, the projection of ourselves on others. Which is also
the theme of the third piece, Take Two- a kissing scene from Hitchcocks Vertigo, in which I separated
the actors from one another, and rejoin them by the usage of two projectors.
In a broken dream is an enchantment by images, and is full of admiration to cinema. In the same time it
questions our subjective existential experience throughout cinematic filters that generates our thinking
methods.

Happy End
09 Space for art, Netanya, Israel
Solo show, 2014
Curator- Maya Kashevitz
The first solo exhibition of Spector at 09 Space for
Art contain representations of artificial depictions
of nature, inspired by romantic cinema. Nature in
Spector's hands goes through a process of death and
revival, and axises such as real and fabrication, eternal
and ephemeral are being dealt in aesthetically high
end.
The mimic practice of scenography suggest a hint to
the artist background as a props designer- with her
usage of set construction methods while deliberately
exposing the hidden.
Spector position one's private emotional memory
against a collective memory, that is based on cinema,
media and popular knowledge.

A scholarchip for a one week Land Art project at the Arava desert of Israel on 2014 .
During the week each one of the group developed his own desert project. I was working with dry
soil cracks, in which I gently took away to the studio and painted on, keeping their natural puzzle d
structure. Later I brought them back to their original spot in nature, and left it there.

A story behind a story is a residency project by Belit Sag (Turkish artist, based in Amsterdam) and

myself . We were invited by the Friese Kunstlerhaus in Hamburg, sponsored by the Kulturbehrde
of Hamburg, to lead a workshop for gymnasium students during the month of July 2015.
The workshop dealt with conflicts zones through the eyes of media images.
The results of A Story Behind a Story Behind a Story was exhibited at FRISE Knstlerhaus gallery.
Pictures of conflict have burned themselves upon our collective consciousness, ever since the
invention of mass communication. Created with a device, these pictures withdraw from coherent
cause and impact of situations by being misshaped in their frequency and legibility, making them
seem available, only revealing abstractions.'
