First of all I want to thank my family and all my friends who

were beside me in this journey , and I want to thank this great

forum who helped me a lot

Preparation time : I started my preparation few weeks after

beginning Internship .. overall about 9 months ..
I started with CK before step 1

Sources : Kaplan lecture note (one time)

MTB 2 , 3 (2 times)
Usmle World (2 times)
Kaplan Q bank (finished only 65% )

Self assessment exams :

NBME 4 : (246) right on the spot !!
NBME 6 : (233)
NBME 3 : (213) .. freaking out !! I was very
depressed
USWA : (250)
" REAL THING : (246) "
*Advices :
. Don't take ur exam unless u r prepared well
.Solve MCQs as much as u can from any sources
. Do as many self assessment exams as you can (IN TIMED
MODE) , you know it's a very long (9 hour exam) .. so u have to
prepare ur self well .

. UW is the best source .

. DO NOT study the day before the exam , u have to rest ur
brain.
.If you can , take step 1 before CK
.You should aiming above the mean for those who are matched
the year before , for example : the mean for those who are
matched in 2013 for USMLE CK (IN ALL SPECIALITY) is "233"
( for IMG "international medical students) ..and 224 for (USIMG) .. so u have to work hard to hit these scores .

EXAM DAY :
Slept at 11:00 , woke up at 6:30 .. had a good night sleep (very
important )
Arrived to the exam center ( in ANKARA , TURKEY) at 8:15
Started the Exam at 8:45 .. finished at 5:45 (what a long day!) .
The Exam center was very nice with very good stuff ppl ,
speaking English very well , the center is very comfortable and
there's a garden u can eat there and smoke if u r smoker.
>> the exam it self was really hard (more difficult than NBME
and UWSA) , I think to some degree is similar to Kaplan self
assessment exam .
This exam needs good real life medical experience , u will face
too many cases about it , this is was my weakest area .
About, 40% : medicine ,, Ob/gynae :15% ,, pediatric : 15% ,,
psychiatry and ethics : 15% ,,: surgery : 10% ,, others including
drug ad. and abstract : 5%.
Exam difficulty :
30% : direct

30% : a little bit harder (tricky)

20 % : very difficult
20% :jumping .. WTF ! is that belong to us !!!!
