Banda estadounidense de Heavy Metal formada en 1981 en Los ngeles

alrededor de los daneses Lars Ulrich y James Hetfield. A ellos se

unieron, al principio, Lloyd Grant y Ron McGovney, pronto sustituidos
por el guitarrista Dave Mustaine y el bajista Cliff Burton,
respectivamente. En 1982 Kirk Hammett ocup el lugar de Mustaine; en
1986, la muerte de Cliff Burton en un accidente llev al grupo a Jason
Newsted, que sera sustituido quince aos despus por el bajista Robert
Trujillo.

Guns N' Roses

Banda de rock estadounidense formada en 1985 en Los ngeles
alrededor del cantante norteamericano Axl Rose (William Bill Bailey,
1962) y del guitarrista britnico Slash (Saul Hudson, 1965). Su imagen
provocadora, su filosofa fiel al lema sexo, drogas y rock and roll y sus
letras agresivas fueron siempre motivo de escndalo en Estados Unidos,
donde llegaron a alzarse voces pidiendo su censura. Su combinacin de
rock duro y punk tuvo un xito arrasador: de Appetite for Destruction (1987) se vendieron ocho millones de
copias solamente en Estados Unidos. Sus lbumes Use Your Illusion I y II (1991) y The Spaghetti Incident?
(1993) tuvieron un xito similar.
