Technological Reference Structure

Specification of Item
The reference structure is a concept for logical structuring of a plant
Instead of creating new structures the technological structure of a plant
is used
Basic principle of this structure are the technological, physical identifiable
components of a plant,
plant i.e.
i e mechatronic objects
Therefore the leading view of the plant is the technological process
(technological function) of the plant
p
to the customer view
The reference structure corresponds
It is a hierarchical structure of the plant
It is an organization principle to describe all aspects of the plant
g
g data are structured according
g to this structure
All engineering
Functions and procedural correlations are assigned to nodes of the
reference structure and are described resp. specified there
The structure is scalable: A reference structure can be everything from
a simple structuring principle up to a solution architecture with complex
content

Definition
Structure
Organization of relations between entities of a system describing consist-of
resp. is-part-of relations
Goals of structuring in engineering
Divide overall task in manageable packages
Considering different aspects, e.g. task-related, work organization,
economical
Organization of information about a system
Partition of data and documents
Considering different aspects, e.g. functional, spatial, technical, etc.
Encapsulation of associated information
Guidelines for the storage of information
Cross-project creation of similar packages on a specific layer
Easier navigating resp
resp. discovering of information
Definition of designation systems

System Interface Connection
Relations between two system elements are modeled explicitly by connections
between two interfaces
No direct element-element-relations
Connections
Connections are undirected 1:1-references between two interfaces
Relations with properties (e.g. pipeline, signal connection, electrical wire) have
