SONY CORPORATION Printed in US.A, SAFETY CHECK-OUT (US model only ) ‘After contesting the original service problem, perform the fo lowing saety checks before releasing te set tothe customer: |. Check the area of your repair for unsoldered or poorly-sokdered connections. Check the entire board surface for solder splashes and bridges. 2. Check the interboard wiring fo ensure that no wires are “pinched” or contact high- wattage resistors 3. Check that all control knobs, shields, covers, ground straps, and mounting hardware have heen replaced. Be absolutely cer™ ‘ain that you have replaced al the insulators. 4. Look for unauthorized replacement pars, particularly transis tors, that were installed during a previous rea. Point them out tothe customer and recommend ther replacement. 5, Look for parts which, through functioning, show obvious signs of deterioration. Point them out to the customer and recom- ‘mend their replacement. 16. Check the line cords for racks and abrasion, Recommend the replacement of any such line cord tothe customer. 7. Check the condition of the monopole antenna (if any). Make sure the end is not broken off, and as the plastic cap on it Point out the danger of impalement on a broken antenna to the customer, and recommend the antennas replacement. 8.
