RCM ACI-BUILDER VERIFICATION

This verification will be comparing the result from RCM ACI-BUILDER with ACI SP17 (05).
To do so, this verification using some examples calculation on ACI SP17 (05) to be applicated
in RCM ACI-Builder, then analyze the disparity among them.

1. SINGLE REINFORCED CONCRETE. (ACI SP17-05 pg. 10)

Analysis:
This example will be comparing between ACI SP17 and RCM Builder on side steel area that
is required to accommodate Mu load.
The result is, Based on ACI SP 17(05) example,
2
As required =
1.22 in
2

=
787.10 mm
and RCM Builder (ACI318-11) calculate, (see at Attachment - Example 1)
785.03

If we comparing this two results, the accuracy between RCM Builder to manual calculation is
2
Deviation = (As RCM - As ACI) =
-2.07 mm
Accuracy = (As RCM/As ACI)% =
99.7%

2. T-BEAM SINGLE REINFORCED CONCRETE (ACI SP17-05 pg. 14)

Analysis:
This example will be comparing between ACI SP17 and RCM Builder on side steel area that
is required to accommodate Mu load.
The result is, Based on ACI SP 17(05) example,
2
As required =
2.85 in
2
= 1838.71 mm
and RCM Builder (ACI318-11) calculate, (see at Attachment - Example 2)
1814.52

If we comparing this two results, the accuracy between RCM Builder to manual calculation is
2
Deviation = (As RCM - As ACI) =
-24.19 mm
Accuracy = (As RCM/As ACI)% =
98.7%

RCM ACI-BUILDER VERIFICATION

This verification will be comparing the result from RCM ACI-BUILDER with Jack. Mc Cormac textbook
"Design of Reinforced Concrete 9th Edition", that has already used ACI 360-11 .
To do so, this verification using some examples calculation on McCormac book to be applicated in
RCM ACI-Builder then analyze the disparity among them. At the same time, excel spreadsheet
which is attached at that book, will be also used as a tool to verify the calculation.
