Histria Global: conceitos, mtodos e oficina de trabalho

Histria Global um dos fenmenos intelectuais mais
relevantes da historiografia contempornea. Seu impacto nas
tcnicas, teorias e princpios da pesquisa histrica pode ser
visto na recente proliferao de livros, artigos, peridicos,
cursos e fontes de financiamento. O processo tem sido
facilitado pela atual revoluo no acesso a fontes digitais de
pesquisa
em
todo
o
globo.
Desafiando
as
narrativas
predominantemente nacionais da disciplina, esse movimento de
internacionalizao da Histria abre espao para vigorosos
debates e estabelece pontes com o estudo acadmico das Relaes
Internacionais.
Esta disciplina talhada para alunos de ps-graduao cujas
dissertaes e teses operam na fronteira entre Histria e
Relaes Internacionais. O curso apresenta e discute trabalhos
exemplares
de
Histria
Global,
incentivando
cada
aluno
matriculado a refletir sobre seu objeto de pesquisa na
perspectiva desse campo do conhecimento.
O curso tambm deve ser visto como uma oficina de trabalho.
Cada aula ser estruturada de modo a discutir as escolhas
conceituais e metodolgicas das teses e dissertaes dos
participantes (inclusive as do professor), criando um ambiente
colegiado para discusso dos desenhos de pesquisa individuais.

cobre
as
seguintes
reas
temticas:
neoimperialismo e movimentos de resistncia; circulao global
de
commodities;
ondas
transnacionais
de
protestos
e
manifestaes populares; a globalizao da msica, do cinema e
da moda; contgios, epidemias e polticas globais de sade;
ideias
e
intelectuais
de
alcance
global;
dimenses
transnacionais do gnero e da sexualidade; Amrica Latina em
perspectiva global; usos da histria global na escrita de
histrias nacionais.
Leituras: a cada aula, os alunos devero ler e comentar em
detalhe pelo menos um dos trabalhos marcados com asteriscos
(*). Alm da avaliao crtica dos textos, espera-se um debate
sobre as implicaes dos mesmos para os projetos de pesquisa de
cada um dos participantes do curso.
Avaliao: um ensaio de at 20 pginas sobre o uso de
conceitos e mtodos de histria global para a tese ou
dissertao em questo. Espera-se que cada aluno possa

aproveitar esse material, na ntegra ou editado, em sua tese ou


dissertao.
