Abstract
Utilized on fossil fuel in Indonesia's relatively high and is expected to run out in 2025. One way Saving
and diversification of energy sources with renewable energy is biogas. Biogas can be produced by the
decomposition of complex organic compounds derived from organic wastes from food waste and liquid
waste. Waste that we were used as raw material are liquid waste industry tapioca and waste offal fish,
which aims to determine the effect C / N ratio of the volume of biogas and methane gas produced and
determine the effectiveness of the variations of active sludge to the volume of biogas and methane gas
generated. Waste in general is a substance, material or product of a process that has no resale value hedge
on environmental pollution. Fish processing wastes has the result of organic compounds, which contain
lots of protein, fat and high source nitrogen compounds. Tapioca wastes produced from leaching and
evaporation of the manufacture of tapioca that has a high content of organic compounds, especially
carbon. Biogas can become the alternative energy as a substitute for fossil fuels. One of the biogas
production process is using co-digestion process. Codigestion means the process of digestion of two or
more substrates homogeneously under anaerobic conditions with the help of microorganisms. Stages of
formation of biogas include hydrolysis, acidogenesis, acetogenesis, and methanogenesis. The factors that
influence the process of making biogas include temperature, pH, nutrients, toxicity, HRT, the ratio C / N
and the starter. This research was carried out by mixing the liquid waste Tapioca Industry are rich with
elements of carbon and waste offal fish rich with nitrogen as a substrate for producing biogas by varying
the C / N in the waste as well as varying types of sludge include cow's rumen, microbial industrial waste
tapioca, and microbial fish waste. The stages of this research includes the preparation phase, phase of
operation and data analysis stage, with independent variable(time decomposition 60 days); control
variable( ratios C / N (20, 25, 30), microbes, F / M (0.5)); the dependent variable(volumes of biogas and
methane gas volumes were measured every day by means of water displacement methods)
