The host is sometimes a key element of the show and is often someone whose A list days are over; a TV star from a different TV genre; a comedian. The host often holds cards as an aide-memoire for introducing contestants. Traditionally the host is male, accompanied by a glamorous assistant. Contestants apply to join the show and vary in age and background. They are selected because they have something about them, which will help make the show successful or are selected at random. Contestants are sometimes selected from the studio audience. The games can vary from physical tasks to practical or puzzlesolving tasks -
It would be in a set were the contestants had a
place to stand and so did the host. It would also have room for a live audience to watch. It would have co-ordinated lighting for when it needed
The questions (if it is a quiz/gameshow hybrid) can vary depending
on the target audience. They are usually set independently. Contestants usually know what type of questions theyll be asked; often start easy and get harder. Technology has increased the way audiences and contestants can see & respond to questions. The prizes can be large e.g. cars and holidays or small e.g. a glass bowl. Sometimes the prize is the title of being the champion. Usually even the losers go away with something even if it just the experience. Gimmicks or catchphrases are often used to make each show original and become part of the national consciousness.
The host would be a well-dressed male who has a
recognisable voice and a cheesy smile. He would have to stand out from the crowd and also be funny to entice the audience. There would be 2 teams of celebritys battling it out to win the money at the end. The 2 teams would consist of mixed gender and 4 people. They w2ould be celebritys so that more people would want to watch it There would be questions that constants answer then they do an activity related to the question t this is so the audience does not get board of just questions They would be family friendly questions and they would be easy sio that people at home can join in so they feel like they are a part of the show too.
They will receive prize money at the end which
will go to a charity off their choice. This is because the public like money going to charity so it might get more views There will be a very catchy catchphrase so that people can link it to the show and remember it.
Music often used first as a catchy theme tune and then as mood music to increase tension or to signal different parts of the show.
There will be music on the opening scene so that
pit is recognisable and when the contestants are doing activates it is more interesting than just them doing the activity
