Online Network for Evaluation (ONE):

Accessing ONE, Performing PC Setup, Viewing


Scheduled Shifts & Basic Page Elements
This guide illustrates how to access and log into the ONE system, perform PC setup and system check, view
scheduled shift information, and use the chat function. This guide reviews the following procedures:

ACCESS THE ONE SYSTEM


1.

Open a browser window, such as Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox and navigate to the ETS Home page by
entering www.ets.org into the Address field.
The ETS Home page displays.

2.

Scroll to the bottom of the page.


From the Join ETS section, select the Scoring Job Opportunities link. The Scoring Job Opportunities page
displays.

From the Related Links section, select the For Existing ETS Raters link. The For Existing ETS Raters and Scoring
Professionals page displays.

From the Online Scoring section, click the Go to ONE button. The Sign In to Your ETS Account page
displays. Use this page to sign into the ONE system.

Enter your ETS user name and password into the User Name and Password fields.

Click the Sign In button. The Terms and Conditions page displays.

Read the information displayed on the Terms and Conditions page.


Note: If you click the I Do Not Accept button, an Important Message displays indicating you must accept the Terms
and Conditions in order to access and use the ONE System.

Click the I Accept the Terms and Conditions button.
A system check is performed. If the system passes the verification check, the Before You Begin page displays.
Proceed to the View Scheduled Shift topic.
OR
If your system does not meet the requirements of the ONE System, the System Check Results page displays
indicating system failures and instructions to remediate the issues. Proceed to the next topic, Perform PC Set Up
and System Check.

PERFORM PC SET UP AND SYSTEM CHECK

Review the Results column of the System Check Results table. Error messages are indicated by a red
exclamation point.
Review the error message and correct the issue. A link displays in the Current Setup of Your Computer System
columns to assist you in resolving the system check error.
Note: The most common system failure errors are outdated applications (i.e., Flash, Firefox, Safari, and Internet
Explorer), incorrect screen resolution, and enabled popup blockers.

Once the error message has been resolved, click the Check Again button to re-run the system
check. The Before You Begin page displays.

VIEW SCHEDULED SHIFT INFORMATION
The Before You Begin page contains a table displaying the users scheduled scoring or monitoring shift. Use this
page to review your scheduled shift information, check your audio settings, and verify your phone number for
todays shift.

1.

Review Your scheduled shift information as needed, including your assigned Activity and Role, Program and Test,
Shift Date, Scheduled Time, and assigned Leader.

2.

If you will be scoring audio responses during your scheduled shift, select the Check your audio link to hear a short
speech sample in order to adjust your speakers, headphones, and volume settings. The Before You Begin - Check
your audio window displays.

Click the Play button to listen to an audio sample in order to adjust your computers volume settings.
When you are finished adjusting your speakers, headphones, and volume settings, click the Close
[X] button to close the window.

From the Your phone number for today section, specify the phone number for the location from which you are
working. Your phone number automatically defaults; update this field as needed.

Click the Select your phone number drop-down arrow.

Select Other: (Please Enter) from the drop-down list. The page refreshes; a text-entry field displays.

Enter the appropriate phone number in the text-entry field.

The Screen resolution recommendation section displays the recommended screen resolution for viewing the ONE
system.

The recommended screen resolution is 1280 x 960 or higher.

The minimum screen resolution requirement is 1024 x 768.

When viewing pages in the ONE system while using a screen resolution that is lower than the
recommended 1280 x 768 or higher resolution, you may be required to scroll to view the entire page.

Click the Continue button. The Online Network for Evaluation Home page displays.

The Current Shift table displays the users scheduled shift information, such as: Task and Role, Program,
Scheduled Time, and Leader information.
In this example, the users Task and Role is Scoring (Rater), the assigned Program is GRI > GRE General-IBT,
the Scheduled Time is 11:30 20:30, and the Leader is Fiona Devon.

BASIC PAGE ELEMENTS
This section reviews basic page elements found on the Online Network for Evaluation Home page.

1.
Click the Contact button to access contact information for your Scoring Leader, Technical Help, and
general Support. The Call window displays.

The phone numbers for your Scoring Leader, Technical Help, and general Support display.

Click the Close [X] button to close the window.

Click the Chat button to access the online chat function. The Chat window displays.

A list of contacts available for chat display. In this example, the Scoring Leader is online.

Select the name to begin an online chat.

Refer to the Use the Chat Function topic for additional information.

The Broadcast Messages table displays a list of messages sent to all ONE users.
Note: The Broadcast (#) link, displayed on the left-side of the page, displays the number of unread broadcast
messages. In this example, there are two (2) unread messages.

Review the Message and Date and Time columns to view the first few characters of the message, as well
as the date and time the message was sent.

Select the hyperlinked Message to view the full-contents of the message text. The Broadcast Messages
box displays.

When you are finished reviewing the message, click the Close [X] button to close the window.

Click the Regular Font Size button to change the size of the text displayed on the page back to the original
size. This button becomes inactive when selected.
Click the Increase Font Size button to increase the size of the text displayed on the page. The page refreshes;
the text on the page is now larger.
Click the Full Screen button to view the page across the entire page. Upon clicking the button, the page
refreshes and the navigation tabs and menu pane on the left side of the page are hidden.

pane.

Exit Full Screen button to revert back to the previous view by displaying the tabs and menu

Click the Scoring button or select the Scoring tab to begin scoring for your scheduled session. The
page refreshes and the Scoring tab displays.
Note: Depending on your Program policies, you may be required to complete Calibration scoring before
proceeding to Production scoring.

Click the Training button or select the Training tab to access training materials, including online
self-studies and reference guides, as well as training and certification sets. Refer to the next topic, Access Training
Materials, for additional information.

The menu pane displays on the left-side of the page and provides access to:

Feedback from Leader Messages from the Scoring Leader are accessed by selecting the Feedback from
Leader link. When the Scoring Leader sends the Rater a message, the Feedback from Leader link
updates to indicate the number of unread messages.

My Temp Hold The My Temp Hold link updates to display the number of responses you currently have on
hold. Raters are able to place up to three (3) responses on temporary hold.

Help Select the Help link to access FAQs, a glossary of scoring terms, and contact information for
technical help and general ONE support.

Note: The links displayed in the menu pane display based on your Programs policies and the level of access
defined by your role (i.e., Rater, Scoring Leader, Chief Scoring Leader, or Group Scoring Leader).
10. Select the Sign Out link to exit the ONE system.
Note: You are automatically be logged out of the ONE system when your scheduled shift ends. You will not receive
a warning message indicating the scheduled session is about to end.

USE THE CHAT FUNCTION
The Chat function exists to provide Scoring Leadership and Raters with an easy method of communicating with
each other during the scheduled scoring event. This topic reviews the steps used to initiate, conduct, and end an
online chat.
Begin this topic on the Home page of the ONE system.

Click the Chat button to view a list of users available for online chat. The Chat window displays.
For Raters: The Chat window displays the name of his/her assigned Scoring Leader for the current scoring event.

For Scoring Leaders: The Chat window displays a list of his/her assigned Raters for the current scoring event and
includes a Search field to allow Scoring Leaders to search for a Rater by name.

Select the name of the user with whom you would like to initiate an online chat. A conversation window displays.
The header contains the name of the user with whom you are chatting.

Enter the appropriate message in the available text-entry field, located at the bottom of the window, and then press
the [Enter] key. The message displays in the top portion of the conversation window.
The recipient of the message uses the same process to respond to the message. Upon pressing the [Enter] key,
his/her response displays.

Repeat this process until the conversation is over.


Click the Close [X] button, located in the upper right corner of the window, to close the window and end the
conversation.
The window closes; the conversation is ended.
