CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background
With his thriving era of modernization, technology is one of the most important aspects of
progress in the world of journalism. Currently gadget is owned by almost every one. This
phenomenon is developing methods of journalism that involves citizens to play an active role
in the spread of an event or important information that is identical is referred to as Citizen
journalism. This is a discussion on international media pundits because in some countries
apparently has the ability to become an alternative media for the citizens, even in some cases
rival the existence of professional journalism in this television, newspapers and radio.
In its development the emergence of Citizen journalism getting a rejection of the mainstream
media who feel citizen journalists instead of professionals who can perform professional
journalists like reportage. The development of Citizen journalism itself is also up in
Indonesia, where at this time if not arguably popular the name of the Citizen Journalism

2.3 . The application of Citizen Journalism as a Tourism Ambassador
An Ambassador of tourism has a role to introduce tourist attractions in the city of
Depok. By providing information-information about the location of tourism in the city of
depok expected to increase tourist interest to come to the city of Depok. Advances in
technology make it easier for the community especially the tourism ambassadors to
promote the tourist attractions in the city of Depok using social media such as blogs or
amateur video that can be directly published to a society by considering some of the
basics of ethical Citizen Journalism.

CLOSING

1.1 Conclusions
Citizen Journalism is a product of the times involving the active role of the community in
the preaching of an event or information in order to provide benefits and education. As an
Ambassador of tourism is an obligation gives the news accurately and without removing
the moral values and ethics in publishing news to the community

The necessity of sosialisai in how to publish a news in order to remain
