    whodepleteourenvironmentforeconomicgain.Therealproblemisthewaypeople
    think.Wehaveturnedourbacksonnature'swarningsigns.Wearetotallylivingin
    disharmonywiththeplanetandwearepayingtheprice.Webelievethatouractionsare
    basedonourlevelofawareness.Towinthisbattletochangepeople'smindsandhearts
    isactuallyamatterofliftinglevelsofawareness.

    ThePhilippineCoastGuardAuxiliaryincooperationwithSubicBayMetropolitanAuthority
    andTheLighthouseMarinaResortLegacyFoundation(LMRLF)hasbeenworking
    handinhandincreatingamovementthatwillStartaSeaofChangetosaveandprotect
    ourenvironment.

    ICCistheworldslargestvolunteereffort
    thatiscelebratedevery
    3rdSaturdayof
    September
    withover540,000volunteersfrom91countriesandlocationsaroundthe
    world.Infact,the
    Philippineswasranked1stintheworld
    withthemostnumberof
    participantswhichreachedmorethan250,000volunteersin2015.Therippleeffectofthis
    waveforchangeisseeninnumbers,but
    ourgoaldoesntstopthere!

    Whilebeachcleanupsalonecantsolvetheoceantrashproblem,havingalliestohelpus
    fighttheexploitationofourplanet,playsanintegralpiecetotheoverallsolutionwhichis
    aboutchangingpeoplesbehavior.Itmayseemlikeanimpossibletaskbutaslongas
    therearepeoplewillingtomakeachange,therewillalwaysbeachanceforabetter
    tomorrow.

    TheCongresscomesatacriticaltimeinthecontextofworldwide effortsto promote


    sustainabledevelopment.Inthefaceofincreasingenvironmentalcrisesincluding
    climate change, biodiversity loss, andwaterand foodscarcitynewthinkingand
    expanded efforts are needed to fill gaps in legal systems, strengthen
    implementation, compliance, and enforcement, and build support for the
    environmentalruleoflaw.

    The Environmental Congress will be held under the auspices of EMB in


    collaborationwithPCGA,organizedbytheICCPhilippines.
