CHAPTER 1 . INTRODUCING

1.1 Theoretical Background

English is such an importan language that we must concern on it. As an
international language, english is use all around the world, so if we able in
english, we can speak with anyone from many country
In english, we must pay attention on grammatical language, like tenses. It can
be easy to our listener to understand the conversation if we use the right
grammrr or tenses. One of the tenses is future tense. Future tense use to talk
something with future meaning, like an expectation , plans etc

1.2 benefit of writing

students can understand and apply the future tense

Chapter 2. Data Analyzing

2.1 Present tense with future meaning

o

Timetables : we use present simple to talk about events which we

expect to happen, because they are part of a timetable (e.g. a flight
timetable, a train timetable, a school or college timetable or calendar, a
cinema programme, a TV schedule, a shop timetable):

Their train leaves at 6 pm !

Hurry up harry, collage assembly is in five minutes

Today is the last day of the journey, Valarie goes back home
tomorrow

What time does the class finish?

The Glees tv series ends next week

Oh God, the library is shut and they dont open tomorrow

Plans

we use the present continuous to talk abaout people

(or organizations) and

their plans:

Were going to the swimming pool tomorrow

Alex is moving into her new flat next week

The computers programmer is coming on Tuesday

This actrees is filming his live journey

Helen isnt going to the cinema nect saturday

What are you doing on Friday ? (=what are your plans for
friday?)

We dont use be in the present continuous, to talk about a plan; we

often use the present simple:

Maura is driving to her village on tuesday shes there till

Thursday.

When for the future

we can use when to talk about a time in the

future; we usually use the present simple after when:

o

Will you still be here, when I get home?

When I finish the english class, Ill pick you up.

When I get cough, Ill eat some medicine.

We can also use the present perfect with when to talk

about something that will happen first before something else
will happen:

ill send my mother a letter when Ive finished my

homework.

2.2 Be going to
o

Form

: We use be going to with the infinitive form of a verb:

Infinitive

Be going to

Contractions

start

I am going to start

Im going to

He/she it is going to start

Its going to

start

start
We/you/they are going to start Theyre going to
start
In the negative we say:

I am not going to start

Im not going

He/she/it is not going to start

Hes not/he

We/you/they are not going to start

Were not/we

to start

isnt going to..

arent going to start

In questions we put am/is/are before that subject :
Are you going to buy a new flat ?
Is marry going to the market ?
When are they going to finish their job ?

Intentions : To talk about intentions (things that people or organisations

have decided to do)
We use be going to :
My sister is sick Im going to the hospital

The collage is going to build a new mosque

He is going to spend his vacation in Hawaii.

Michelle is going to begin nursary school next year.
They are going to drive all the way to Alaska.

We use the negative to talk about things that we have decided not
to do:
Were not going to take a flight to Manchester this
year
Sofie isnt going to buy a new phone this month
She is not going to spend her vacation in Hawaii

Expectations

: We also use be going to for things that we axpect to

happen:
Danielle is going to be happy when her boyfriend
finish his study
This Band is going to make a great tour

The movie "Zenith" is going to win several Academy

Awards.
Or not to happen:
He isnt going to the party this night
My bestie isnt going to my graduation next month
They arent going to the zoo tomorrow
2.3 WILL AND SHALL
o

Form
We use will with the infinitive form of a verb :
I/you/he/she/it will late

Ill late

We/you/they will late

theyll late

We prefer to use the contraction (ll) in conversations, particularly after I,

you, etc
We put adverb like probably or still before the verb
Example : This will probably hurt a bit.

In negative we say :
I/you/he/she/it will not late

you wont late

We/you/they wil not late

we wont late

In question we put will before the subject

Example : Will you send his book next week?

Expectations
a. We use will for things that we expect to happen
Example : My mother will teach math.
b. We use wont for things that we expect to happen
Example : We wont buy their apple at that price. Its too high.
c. We often use will after expressions with think
Example : I think itll be an amazing day tomorrow.
Note : we usually avoid think + wont
Example : I dont think shell change her shoes. ( NOT I think he wont
wait)
d. We often use will with a when or if clause; we dont use will in the
when or if clause
Example : my friend will be excited when he knows the news
Your mark will increase if you study hard

Plans and intentions

We dont usually use will for plans or intentions
Example : Were watching THIS IS US tonight. ( NOT We will watch)
But we can use will for plans or intentions with be and after I think
Example : I think Ill go to the workshop tomorrow.

Promises and offer

We use will in promises and offers
Example : I dont want to study tonight. Dont worry. Ill study.

Shall
We dont usually use shall in statements, but we do use shall I or shall
we (and not will) in requests for advice
Example : Shall I ask William to took the rubbish out ? (NOT Will I ask...?)
