Questions

Adolescent days, the influence of the environment and peers during high school days
A. At present cite some situations that can help and destroy the life of a teenager.
According to Erikson on his Theory of Psychosocial Development, every individual moves
through an orderly sequence of stages, each of which is more complex. Maturation occurs as the
individual ascends from one stage to another. At each stage, the individual is faced with a
psychosocial conflict which must be resolved before moving on to the next stage of
development.
I think, a situation, where in the teenager surpasses some certain challenges in his early life
on his own, or by the help of a certain guardian who only guides and not overindulge the teen
to accomplish something creates a strong foundation in the teens personality.
By doing the opposite, and overindulging the teenager by giving him what he needs to
improve easily only creates a negative effect on the teen, as he will not resolve the conflict
fully to be able to move on to the next stage of development successfully.
B. How this situation build his confidence in facing the challenges in life.
This will create a strong personality, a good foundation always bear good fruits. A blade well
whetted can cut strong stalks. He will make more complex solutions to problems. He will create
and improve his skills by making his focal point a search for identity. The development of
identity is linked with skill mastery. On a broader level, we might say that it includes cultural
identity as well as personal identity, identity as a member of a community as well as identity as
an individual.

C. What is your position as to the factors that can be of great weight in one's life
(Focus on the influence of the environment and peers)
Erikson also noted in his stages of adolescence, ages eleven and upwards, is that of Identity
versus Role Diffusion .As the name suggests, Inner demands often run counter to outer demands,
leading to diffusion and some instability. Adolescents grapple with the question of who they will
become as well as the question of who they are. They often have a close attachment to their
parents, yet at the same time are searching for other associations.
The environment, family and the age group greatly affect ones life. A clear example of this is
the social media. A family who is greatly reliant to the internet for basic things such as food,
clothing and social interaction will surely produce an introverted teenager. This teen will have a
hard time socializing with people. This is true today, as we can observe the new generation,
adolescents tend to stay indoors. In due time, we will lose the term kababata which is term that
we use to indicate a peer that we use to play with.
The choices and the decisions they made during the college days
I.

The factors to consider in choosing the best course.

The most common factors that must be considered are your interests, future career opportunities,
course content, school quality, and course duration.

It is important to know our interests because it will really create a contrast in your
personality if you will choose a course which is not fitted to your personality. This will also
create a problem later on that is why we must try to know what we want earlier to start off
well. For example, if you don't like maths, don't take any courses related to maths. Also never
choose a course because everyone is going for it or because your friends and family are
pressurizing you to take it.

Future career opportunities should be prospected as well before selecting one. Consider
various factors such as income, job security, stress, responsibility and other benefits while
researching a profession. It is also useful to find out if a future employer will invest in your
education.

To avoid making mistakes, we should review the course outline of the course that we
want to apply for. Have a look at the subjects you must undertake and the types of learning,
assignments and examination tasks involved. This will enable you to form a rough idea of
what lies ahead for you. If you are set on going to a particular school, dont let this completely
dictate your course selection. Compare course outlines and studying facilities between
universities to make sure you make the right choice for your educational needs and
preferences. To be certain that you will be committed to your studies, find out the duration of
your course. Taking double-degrees, full time or part-time depends on your personal choice.

B. How these courses affect your future goals?

Factors such as income, job security, stress, responsibility and other benefits while researching a
profession earlier in time creates a much easier life in the future. This will also make you happier
and bring you closer to your future goals.
What are the trials to be encountered as you go on with your desired course?
College is academically challenging. For many, college courses require much more effort than
high school classes did. Unlike most high schools, colleges often pack two years of content into
one year. Many students take a full 15 credit semester, while others try to cram in up to 18 or
even 21 credits. At times, it seems impossible to stay on top of it all.
To afford the high price of college tuition, many students must get jobs. Juggling a job,
relationships, and extracurricular activities is extremely difficult. Many students try to cram all of
these activities into one day and do not get enough sleep. Without proper rest, students are
vulnerable to physical and mental health problems. This will lead to depression; every problem
can raise a student's stress level and contribute to emotional lows. Some find temporary relief in
partying which, in excess and in the long run, may contribute to depression. Heightened stress,
poor self-care, and lack of sleep can cause health problems. Living in close quarters also poses
health risks and can increase a student's chances of contracting illnesses. Establishing

connections and spending time with classmates and roommates is important for building
community. However, spending too much time together can be challenging, and conflicts can
arise. Social relations can become a distraction. Relationships are good, but they can be
overwhelming. Sometimes they take a lot of time and can begin to encroach on your education.
There are times in every relationship when a couple will have a disagreement which can distract
them from schoolwork and add to stress levels. Break-ups can drive some students even further
into depression.

D. At present, how will you evaluate yourself? Do you think you were on the right track?
(Consider also the other courses as you gather data for your research study)
Yes, I can really say that I am on the right track. I can also say that, it was a good choice when I
choose to be in the Sunday College program. I know that it will take me 5 years to finish this
course. I am still happy that I am in this program. If continued to become a regular student. I
would have not gotten the opportunity to work in different companies that had helped me grow
to what I am today. I can also say that I am smarter and mature now. I have faced a lot of
problems and stayed afloat. I became stronger and vigilant. I can also say that I am still far from
my dreams, but I am sure that I can reach it someday. For the record, I want to become a lawyer.
