OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson the Ss will be able :


- to practise and develop reading for specific information
- to develop the students reading skills,correct intonation and pronunciation
- to answer the questions
- to express regrets
ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
The students may encounter problems in finding the right form for expressing themselves
-may be shy and unwilling to participate actively throughout the lesson
-may have different problems with the time allowed for each activity
SKILLS INVOLVED: reading,speaking, writing
AIDS: textbook, worksheets,flip-chart,blackboard
STAGES:
Activity 1: Warm-up
Aim:
- to introduce the students into the atmosphere of the lesson
Procedure: T enters the classroom, greets the Ss.The T asks for the absentee
Interaction: T-Ss
Time: 2min
Activity 2: checking homework
Aim:
-to check students' homework
-to correct eventual mistakes
Procedure: The T will have to listen to the Ss homework
Time: 6 min
Activity 3:introducing the new lesson

Aim:
- to attract students attention on the topic
- to make students ability in comprehension better
Interaction: T-Ss
Time: 5'
Procedure: T asks Ss to look in their books and to say what they think is about in this
lesson considering the title and the picture
What do you think the title means?
,, What does it mean regret for you? Can you give some synonyms for this word?
Ss answer to the teachers questions.The teacher writes the synonyms on the flipchart and
then the title of the new lesson ,,Regrets''on the blackboard.Students write down in their
notebooks.

Activity 4: reading and writing
Aim:
- to give students practice in reading; to check prediction
- to write a summary
Interaction: GW, Ss-T
Time: 15 min
Procedure: The teacher divides class into four groups and asks each group to read one
paragraph loudly and clearly and then to write in their own words a summary of what
they read,then the teacher asks them if they have any unknown words,teacher explains
them..
Activity 5: Checking comprehension
Aim:
- to check comprehension
- to practise writing and speaking
Interaction: GW, T-Ss
Time: 10'
Procedure: in the same group, they have to solve the ex 1.a from page 71 ,then the teacher
gives them worksheets with comprehension questions.
Activity 7:Speaking activity
Aim:
-to express regret
Interaction:PW.T-SS
Time:10'
Procedure:The teacher asks students to work in pairs and ask each other if they have
regrets

Activity 8: Evaluation: homework


Time: 2 minutes
Interaction: T-Ss
Procedure: T thanks to the students for their activity and congratulates the students
which have given correct answers.
