Climate Analysis
Tiruchirappalli experiences a tropical savanna
climate with Major change in temperature
between summer and winter. The climate is
generally characterised by high temperature
and low humidity with an annual mean
temperature of 28.9 c and monthly average
temperatures ranging between 25 c and
32c, the city is the hottest in the state.
Tamil nadu is the 3rd largest receiver of solar
radiation and receives about
5.35kwh/m2/day.
From june to september, the city experiences
a moderate climate tempered by heavy rain
and thundershowers. Rainfall is heaviest
between october and december because of
the north-east monsoon winds, and from
december to february the climate is cool and
moist. the average annual rainfall is 841.9
mm (33.15 in).
As Tiruchirappalli is on the deccan plateau
the days are extremely warm and dry;
evenings are cooler because of cold winds
that blow from the south-east.

TOPOGRAPHY
The site is irregular in shape and is relatively
a flat land.
There is no high tension cable running in and
around the site keeping if free from hazards.
The site is sliced along the diagonal with a
natural canal.
Though the canal appears to have little
presence on site currently, if can be treated
as a river of landscape sometimes with water
and other times having vegetation only. This
canal can thus strategically be converted to
provide an integrated water management
strategy as well as an organisational and
visual structure for the campus.

Services on the site

Local trichy development authority has

provided electric cables. the main elecfrical
lines run along the NH-210.
As there is no sewer line near the plot, the
campus should have to provide its own stp to

treat and recycle l00% of the sewerage

produced on site.

Current Campus
IIM Trichy's current campus is located
temporarily in NIT Trichy.
Adequate accommodation is provided for
Boys and Girls Hostels. They share common
sports facilities with NIT Trichy. They have
