NAME:

__________Kenan Lochmueller_________

1. Description of Project: What will your project will look like? In no

more than three paragraphs, describe your project and its purpose.
The drum book will be laid out similar to the style of other drum book. Between 2-5 solos will be in
the book. These solos will not be incredibility difficult and not written for fantastic musical merit, but
written for fun. These solos will make me a better musician.

2. Prior Knowledge: List below previous knowledge acquired about the project,
tasks already completed, and materials or sources procured.
Ive played drums for 11 years, and have a loose outline for how each song will sound. I will need
my drum set, practice pad, tenor drums, tenor pad, as well as lots of staff paper.

3. Proposed Mentor: Whom have you asked to be your mentor and why? Is this
person willing to sign the mentor contract and also provide proof of completion documentation
to the teacher at the end of the project?
Mr. Philip Minnis is my mentor. He has already signed the contract and is willing to show proof
of completion

4. Task Analysis: After talking with your mentor, develop a timeline that lists all the tasks

you must complete in order to finalize your project by the due date. The timeline should include
anticipated completion dates for each task. If you are raising money for a charity, you must indicate
how you will handle the money you collect. For any fundraising at North, you must create an
account at the bookstore.

5. Costs & Materials: After conferring with your mentor, you should research all
materials and costs needed to complete your project successfully.
List the materials and costs for each item.
Drumset (already owned). Sibalius: free program Making book: 50$
Where did you get your information regarding costs?
The cost is from the cost of how much it takes to make a book at office depot.

6. Stretch for learning: Make a claim about how this project is a stretch for your
learning. Then, support your claim with at least three reasons. Make sure your reasons are explained
thoroughly.
This project is a stretch for my learning because it forces me to work on my rhythmic composition
skills transferring what I play onto paper. Each piece will be written in a different style and this
forces me to expand my musical tastes and already present playing ability. My experience with
marching drums is limited, writing one tenor solo will help me work with my x and y playing axiss
and proper technique. Each song will reflect a person and their playing styles this forces me to
become more fluent in different playing styles spanning across multiple generations.
